If your kid didn't climb out of the crib

When did you decide to transition to a bed? Why?

DS is 23 months old and very content in his crib, so I don't see us transitioning him anytime soon unless he climbs out. He also does 360s all night long and that makes me think he's gonna fall out of a regular bed.

around 20 months. She rolls around a lot and refused the crib. Now she sleeps in a full with guardrails.

DD is 2 years, 4 months and still in her crib quite contently. She's never tried to climb out. I see us keeping her in there until sometime between 2.5-3 years if possible! So obviosuly I can't help you with when we transitioned, but she's still in there and doing well.

Are you anywhere close to potty training yet? Just wondering how that works with a crib!

We moved DS1 at 26mo solely because I didn't want to buy a second crib for DS2. We moved him to a new room/toddler bed and it went great.

Just shy of three. I had just had a miscarriage and I didn't really want to see a crib at the moment.

Um, we're at 3 years 2 months old and he's still in his crib. I don't see the reason to switch if he's not trying to get out. Am I wrong here? LOL

A was almost three. We were almost ready to move M to the crib, and I wanted her to have time to adjust to her new room before I did it.

We are potty training over Christmas break, so in about a month. So I guess the crib thing will be dependent on how that goes. I image we'll daytime potty train at the beginning and then work on naps and nighttime. So we might be able to still keep her in the crib for a little bit.

We transitioned DS at 2.5, because ... we felt like it? LOL. We didn't have a reason other than we felt like it was time.

at 3 and a couple of months. We switched her so she could get up and use the potty at night or in the morning if need be. She typically won't get out of the bed until we come in though

Another crib for life but we will make the transition probably a month or two after her 3rd birthday.

Shortly after turning 2 (2y, 3 m, to be exact).She was fully PT and out of diapers, even at night, and I wanted her to be able to get out of bed on her own to go to the bathroom MOTN and first thing in the morning (even though she still needed my help once in the bathroom). She also wanted a bed and talked about having a bed "like a big girl" and it just felt like it was time. It coincided with her starting preschool just a few weeks after.

DD was 1 month shy of 3 when she suddenly decided she no longer wanted to sleep in the crib. One night she refused to go down in it so I told her if she slept there one more night we'd buy her a bed the next day. She did and we did.

Right around 2. When DS calls for me in the night I usually go in and lay with him until he falls back to sleep (and I end up staying there), so getting him a full-size made this easier. (Prior to that, we had a futon in his room, I wasn't climbing into his crib to lay with him, lol.)

DS1 got kicked out just shy of 3 because DD needed it. DD and DS2 got the boot right around 3 because they looked uncomfortable. They have twin beds with one side against a wall and a rail on the other.

3 years and 7 months. I was pregnant and was going to need the crib for the baby in a few months. Otherwise I'm not sure I would have even switched her then!

2 years and maybe 8 months for no real reason other then I was sick of the crib.

DD will be 3 in March and is still in it. we're just riding it out!

I guess this is one benefit to having lazy ass boys who don't want to potty train until 3.5. Both my boys were/are late to potty train, and happily stayed in their cribs until just after 3.

19 months for DS1 b/c we needed the crib for ds2. DS2 was a few months past 2. We moved to a new house and got new twin beds for the boys shared room.

He'll be moving to a twin bed in a month to give him some time to transition before ds2 is born. He'll be 2 yr 3 months. Otherwise I wouldn't move him for another 6 mo to a year.

2 years, wanted her out before the new baby came. She is a rule follower and still doesn't climb out so it's been easy peasy.

26 months because we needed the crib for kid #2. The anticipation was way worse than the actual process, IMO. We played up the "big girl bed" element and let her pick out sheets and a duvet. She seems so much more comfortable now in a twin bed than the last few months in her crib.

We moved her at 2yr3m. We went away for a week and used the toddler air mattress, which she loved b/c she could climb in herself.

Cue getting home and her freaking out that she couldn't get in the crib herself. So we took off the side rail and put the toddler rail on.

She has never gotten out of the crib unless it was to get something that's fallen out and she goes right back in.

The first three were moved around 2.5 because another sibling was on the way. DS2 will be moved in the next few weeks because he is a climber. He will be just shy of 22 months.

She never climbed out but at 18-20 months she was DONE with it as she was sleeping on a cot at daycare and preferred to sleep on a bed.

She went from a crib to a queen w no issues.
