After much wine drinking I learned Merlot is the only wine I like. Some wine is just either too sweet or tastes like straight up ass. Merlot never fails.
I saw the apple cider mimosa recipe @tambcat posted a few days ago, and I think that's what I'm drinking pre-lunch. DH will stick with his Bloody Mary, and MIL will probably join him.
With the meal I am drinking a Messina Hof riesling (judge away, lol), and DH will switch to beer - I got him Karbach Krunkin Punkin.
But now I'm eyeing that sangria that was posted above, too.

What about cheap champagne on ice with some La Croix and a slice of lemon and frozen berries thrown in?
Or some guava juice (I can't remember the brand), mixed with champagne on ice?
You could dip the end of a toothpick in glue, then glitter, stab some strawberries or cherries and garnish it. The tackier the funner, I say.
Water in my champagne? That will get you a TV tray in the hallway.
Also, I am looking for things that can be made as single cocktails and don't require opening an entire bottle of wine. The biggest problem with wine-based cocktails is that they are a big commitment!
