A disagreement with my family and the other post about the disagreement between mom and sister have me laughing about my own family.
We're going to my sister and BIL for the long weekend. We have two toddlers so obviously we're a circus. They have two 6 year olds and my sister is 37 weeks pregnant. The where were celebrating conversation went like this:
Me: are yiu going to be home for thanksgiving? Her: yes. What are you doing? Me: coming to your house? Her: ok.
And then 3 weeks later we are going back, also with my parents, for a long weekend right before Chrsitmas for fake family Christmas. My mom has been bugging my sister to make a plan. I sided with my mom and my wife got annoyed with me. And all of a sudden I saw it all through MMM's horrified eyes. Oops.
DS has a thanksgiving feast today for lunch. He can stay the rest of the day, but that seems pointless going back to pick up later. We'll come home to nap (hopefully everyone!), then newborn/family/ds is 2 pictures.
With the holiday, the photographer and I compared schedules and realized this afternoon was our only time available. So I had roughly 12 hours to throw some outfits together. They won't be MMM's most coordinated clothes, but they'll do. Fingers crossed DD doesn't shit all over DH like DS did during his newborn session. I don't have much for back ups, lol
59 minutes until I am out of work! Then I am headed to the consignment store to pick up DS' dollhouse, and THEN home to make a pumpkin pie for tomorrow. Also I have to stash the dollhouse somewhere DS won't see it. Uhmmmmm It's kinda big. I have no idea where I can put it.
DH is annoyed that he's off work getting the house ready for our guests. But we only are having guests because his parents decided to come pretty much uninvited so I then invited my single friend. Thus this is so not my problem. Plus I don't have any vacation days because I recently gave birth to his child. Like STFU dude.
@starry, hate to say it but the constant pooping was what led us to investigate mpi.
Yesterday I prepped mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, appetizers, made pumpkin cheesecake, pie crust, and made the stock for gravy. All I have to do tomorrow is cook the turkey and make apple pie!
What is mpi? DD1 was the same way but a miserable child whereas Dd2 is average.
DS2 pooped constantly till about 10 weeks. Now it is once a day. Dr said it was normal
I just ate a PB&J on store-bought bread. That was disappointing. I've spoiled myself making bread. My KitchenAid stand mixer is packed, though, so blah bread it is. I'm a bread snob. Sorry.

I'm getting a mani-pedi now. I feel a little bad that I've been out doing things leaving DH is charge of the kids, but not too badly. I never get to just have 'me' time. I have a facial later today too.

I love homemade bread too, but IMO a PB&J is best on good ol' fashioned white Wonder Bread.
God damn it, I ran to the grocery store and target after dropping DD off at daycare. Now I'm sitting in the car outside of Costco waiting for them to open at 10am to buy my apple pie. Whyyyy can't Costco open like a normal store?
20 minutes sitting in the car playing on my phone. Sure, whatever.
I've been at the dealership for 1.5 hours for my 20k miles tune up and inspection. Hopefully they are done soon (they said it would take about 90min) because I'm starving!

I am in NoVA for thanksgiving. SIL had to work a half day, nephew is at school a half day, H, FIL, and BIL went to play golf. MIL is watching my kids and I am at Tysons 2 shopping, and eating clam chowder, drinking champagne at noon. Best day ever.
DS1 just saw me pumping and is fascinated. He asked if he could try next.
DS (age 7) walked in once and I tried to explain. He knows I breast feed but the pump was new. He said "wow, you are just like a cow!". Ha. In fairness they had just gone to a dairy farm for a camp field trip. He is super fascinated by all things breastfeeding.
I just made sangria for tomorrow using the recipe redheadbaker gave me. It's delicious already so I bet it will be awesome tomorrow! Thanks!
H just took the kids outside for a bit to burn off some energy. Once the girls are down for their nap I am baking pumpkin blondies and have to clean up and get out the china.
Congrats @spunbutterfly! IME, the digitals don't pop up + unless HCG is decently high, and faintness/darkness of lines means next to nothing.
Really?? I hope so. The last time with Thor I didn't even bother with digitals cause the frer was so dark. This one, I feel like I'm convincing myself a line is there.
Yup, digital are quite a bit less sensitive than FRER pr other line dye tests. Congrats!
I've gotten a ton done today, but very little of the work that I actually get paid for.
Three loads of laundry, bathroom scrubbed, kitchen sink scrubbed, and next I'm going to vacuum and dust the whole upstairs. I'm bound and determined to keep this house clean before the baby comes, dammit.
Plan is to "work" until 1, go home, whip up the custard for homemade ice cream, put it in the fridge to chill, then take a long ass nap before getting the kids from daycare.
