What are you cooking or bringing to share? If you're doing the whole meal you have my sorrys, but share your favorite thing anyway. Recipes get bonus points
DH wants to make spinach dip so I need a recipe for that. The man does not understand advance planning and now I need to go to the store and buy ingredients.
I'm very sad that our Thanksgiving is over (I've said before, American Thanksgiving is the one day of the year when I regret being Canadian).
But here's my (awesome) spinach dip recipe:
1 pkg. frozen spinach, chopped 1 pkg. Knorr vegetable soup mix 1 cup mayo 1 cup sour cream Chopped onion (optional)
Mix all and put into hollowed out bread bowl, preferably a nice big round pumpernickel loaf with the cubed bread around it for dipping. I usually buy a French/Italian loaf too and cut that into cubes along with the pumpernickel, so there's some bread variety.
H and I are cooking together. It's fun so far. We are making: - turkey (grilled) - Mac n cheese (crockpot) - collard greens - bourbon carrots - rolls - sweet potato pie - cheese cake
We are also going to my sisters for dinner tomorrow night. I'm full just thinking about it.
We're eating at my parents tomorrow. Tonight I'm assembling/cooking. I'm making cranberry sauce, mashed potato, green bean casserole and pecan pie.
I also going to throw together some apps because we tend to all arrive early and forget how late we're eating and people get hungry so someone makes a McDonald's run.
I'm thinking a relish tray and maybe spinach artichoke dip

I love this dip! Unfortunately, no one else in my house will eat it, so I'm stuck eating the whole thing.

We are doing TG in a hotel followed by Christmas in a hotel. So for "dinner" we're going to a diner. Then back to the hotel for naps, and Christmas "dinner" is apps in the hotel room. I'm making meatballs in bbq sauce, veggie pizza, tortilla roll-ups, and warm artichoke dip. We'll also have a fruit tray and meat/cheese/crackers.
We're going to DH's cousin's house tomorrow for a huge family party. It's great b/c it's fun, there are kids there, it's casual, and it's close!
I'm bringing drunken cranberries. I got the recipe from my friend at my bridal shower. It's become a tradition in her family and now in ours, too. Combine 12 oz bag cranberries, 1 1/2 cups sugar, 1/4 to 1/2 t cinnamon, dash of nutmeg in a 9x13 pan. Cover tightly with foil. Bake at 350 for 35 to 40 minutes. Check and stir halfway through. When done, berries should be soft and sugar dissolved. Remove from oven and stir in 1/4 c whiskey and refrigerate. You're supposed to make it a couple days in advance, but I have made it Thanksgiving morning and it still is good.
Also a can of jellied cranberries for kids or whomever.
We're making pumpkin pie (the regular Libby's recipe with Pillsbury crusts!) b/c we do that every year to have some pie at our house for the weekend. I think we're bringing one to the party and keeping one here. I think the regular old Libby's recipe is hard to beat. We add nutmeg and a little more of the spices and go a little under on the condensed milk.

We are cooking. Making:
Turkey Irish meat stuffing Mashed potatoes Mac and cheese Carrots Green beans Corn on the cob
Very kid friendly lol
We are supposed to go to my grandparents for dessert but since dd is sick (and Ds started coughing a lot this morning)I think we are skipping. They live less than five minutes away so I may stay for a half hour then bring some dessert home. Lol.
I'm hosting but everyone's bringing stuff so all I have to do is the turkey tomorrow. Oh and set up apps, doing bacon wrapped scallops, huge antipasto platter, crackers and cheese, fresh baguettes and butter and shrimp! Mmmmmmm
