H gets paid triple time for working on holidays, so he is planning to try to pick up shifts on Thursday and Friday (they're both considered holidays by his company). Meanwhile, I am so glad that I decided to take this week off because I woke up on Monday with a sore throat and it's been slowly working its way into a head cold since then. I woke up this morning feeling so stuffy that my ears hurt.
I have to run to Home Depot today to pick up the last of the hardware for the kitchen cabinets and attempt to track down a garbage can that's the size we need. Then I'll just be unpacking and organizing.
Ugh. Sickness has taken over our home I was up a lot last night with congestion and breathing challenges. M has been puking several times a day because he is so sensitive to post nasal drainage. Happy beginning of winter to me.
amaranth - Poor M! I've always been the same way with post nasal drainage. Ever since I was a baby it's been a given that when I get any sort of cold/respiratory bug I will end up with a stomach ache. I hope you both feel better soon!

amaranth & katespade I hope you ladies feel better soon. I also get paid double time for the holiday I'm going to try to get in a couple hours tomorrow Friday I will work form 9-1. I need the $$$$$$ with Christmas coming up.
I'm so bored at work today. It's just dragging today. I have no motivation to do anything today.
I'm working tomorrow then my mom is making a late thanksgiving dinner. I will be making my partner watch the parade then football game as I do every year lol. DH usually comes to visit me in the afternoon. After work I am picking up my nephew on my way home and then it's turkey time!

amaranth aww, I hope he feels better! E got sick a couple times at daycare yesterday but was fine last night so I told them to call me if it happens again today. Hopefully I won't get a call!
We get to skip lunch and leave early today, score!

amaranth and katespade- Hope you ladies (and M) feel better soon! ((hugs))
DH is working but getting off early (and then working at home this afternoon/evening). Still need to finish packing so we can leave early tomorrow morning.
Pregnancy and kid stuff below (not my pregnancy)...
Two of my really good friends (one pregnant and one waiting on beta results) have milestone appts today. My HS BFF struggled with infertility with their first and went straight to IUIs for their second. First cycle didn't work and second cycle was a very early m/c (chemical pregnancy). Third cycle resulted in this pregnancy and they have their viability u/s today. Our other friend (DH's BFF) struggled for the last 3 yrs or so, with many failed clomid, IUI, etc and are now waiting the results from their first IVF cycle. I really really hope both couples get great news today!
So, C fell down our stairs yesterday and I have been a nervous wreck since. It was totally my fault and I just can't shake the image I have of him rolling down the stairs (we have a box instead of a gate because "we are moving"...I removed the box for the showing thinking I needed to get as much done before his nap since there was little time after nap before the appointment. Well, he was playing in the kitchen with me and next thing I know he's on the stairs. Thankfully I knew right away and ran over in time to catch him before he hit the tile floor but he still hit his head on the banister). He cried and seems fine but I'm second guessing every little fuss right now.
Secret Santa Question: Can we send our SS gift anytime after it is finished? Or are we supposed to wait until Dec 11th? (I must have forgotten from last year lol)

Send it whenever you want. I always try to send mine by Dec 1st because it takes longer with the border.

Buyers postponed again...they are supposedly coming on Sat now. I really don't understand flaky people...at least I didn't finish getting the house ready and we didn't have to wait around.

RUDE! I wonder if they have a decent reason or if they're just flaky.

I honestly think they are just flaky and very inconsiderate. I'm also side-eyeing their realtor but who doesn't put a stop to that? I'm just glad we won't be home...if they show up great, if not then I didn't waste my time getting all ready and waiting on them.
So DH and I have decided to sell my car. (It's running amazingly now) we figure that it's time to get rid of it. I am going to put it up for sale and drive it until it sells. Once it sells I am going to insure my SILs car and drive that until we buy something newer. (My bro and SIL are going to Thailand for 3 months so the are not using their car until March after nov 29th.)
I am happy to have a friend that's a SAHM because having days off during the week all the time is so hard, and lonely. She wanted to go grocery shopping today and asked if I needed to go. She came picked me up we shopped and she dropped me off at home afterwards. it's great to have company while shopping, and really it's probably way easier for her to have help with 2 kids shopping.
My friend is also amazing in that we have made tons of plans to do stuff over my (unwanted) month off. And she will totally understand if I get called into work and cancel most of our plans. She is an amazing friend in general and I am so lucky to have her.
My H had a half day today so he suggested we go to the next town over and have a nice dinner out. He NEVER suggests an outing. He is introverted and our house is is happy place. I was thrilled! Well as we were walking around the mall waiting for dinner time M had the worst melt down. You know, the kind that you look at and thank god it isn't you? Well, that was us. We couldn't get him to stop screaming so we had to leave. I just got to the car and cried. We tried to do something fun and M totally ruined it. It's petty but I'm disappointed and mad at a one year old.
luv2rn4fun it's so hard not to beat yourself up for things when the kids get hurt but at least he is okay and too young to remember. I always try to remind myself it hurts my heart more than their body usually.
awick14 that's awesome to have found her as your friend. I'm sure she is thrilled too. I went shopping with my sisters yesterday and it was amazing how much easier it was with extra help. I bet your friend was grateful.
