There's a mouse (or more likely) mice in my car! Shredded papers, droppings and odd spots (pee?) on the dash. I am just grossed out. How do I get this clean and how do I get rid of them? I mean really, we don't keep food in the car, crumbs perhaps, but wouldn't they be eating the car seats then? They haven't from what I inspected. I'm buying poison tonight and putting it in the garage and I hope that helps. I hesitate to put it in the car though, kids, dead mice and all...help!

I think blowing up the car sounds like a viable option. I'm sure Google could help you find a way to make it look like an accident so insurance gets you a new one. Good luck

Ok ladies, I need real help here. Google doesn't have much that I'm convinced is real. Mint on a cotton ball? Really? Moth balls? Cleaning with bleach (duh!). I want to know they are gone and my car is getting detailed immediately after that.

From someone who recently dealt with mice in their house. you need to find out where/how they are getting in and block it off, and you need to catch and kill the ones already inside. I ended up calling an exterminator (and we ended up having to dispose of about 7 dead mice from inside our house/garage). Don't use the traps where the eat the poison and then go off to die...because then you will be looking for a smelly dead mouse, or, like me, you will one time see a mouse you think is dead (this was in our laundry room), scream and shut the door till your dh gets home, and then when he does get home, the mouse will be gone. The exterminators used the old fashioned snap traps. Using those worked along with weather-proofing our garage door, caulking around a cable going into our study, and putting our dog food in an airtight container. I want to say the exterminator only cost maybe $200? Still not great, but worth it if you can't figure out where they are coming from (my fear was killing all the mice, but still having a way in and them coming back, the exterminators had a 6 month guarantee).

I think an insurance adjuster would have to understand this. Mice = fire. That's like the law, right?

The little f-er ate the poison in my car, didn't touch a trap or poison in the garage. Dh moved things around a bit, take two today. Plus, it snowed which means I no longer drive that car, dh does, thank God!
