A few months ago (I'm sure no one remebers) I posted about my male cousin coming out as a female.
Yesterday, we had a family get together and I met her for the first time. I'll admit, it was strange to see "him" as a "her". But I am so proud of my family for embracing this change with no issues whatsoever. The more I watched my cousin the more I realized how much more happy and social she is. She is taking hormones so her voice is not as deep, and her hair was colored and cute.
There is really no reason for this post, but all I have to say is that my family rocks!
I am glad that your whole family is so open and supportive! They do rock!
One of my uncles is gay and at 50 still isn't 'out'. He has mentioned it to me and my brother while he was drunk, but I don't think he remembers that. Everyone 'knows' that he is gay, and he still isn't comfortable coming out. We have all tried to make a family atmosphere where uncle would know that no one will have a problem with it, and he still tries to 'pretend' at family functions. (ie - bringing friends and claiming they are his girlfriend). It makes me so sad for him that he isn't comfortable being himself around his own family. I am thrilled that your cousin was comfortable enough to be herself!

That's amazing. I am glad that she has such support. My family would probably not be that supportive. My cousin, who is gay, has tried to come out to his parents repeatedly and they change the subject...
