A friend's 4yo daughter wants Lego for Christmas but specifically wants some girls. I didn't realize the Lego Friends and "girl" sets have people that different from regular Lego sets - they're all one piece and not interchangeable like regular Lego.
Regular Lego - separate head/arms/legs.
Does anyone know of any sets that have several 'girl' minifigures? She is hoping for some regular Lego people with ponytails/long hair - I didn't realize it was this hard to find, or that Lego Friends people are so different from the other Lego people.
The Lego store at our mall has girls you can build in the "build your own minifigure" thing. My daughter always makes mermaids. It's rediculous they don't have more options. My kids favorite part is changing out heads. You can build 3 for 10.00 at the Lego store.

I had no idea the Lego Friends line were so different. They're more like Playmobil. Who knew!!

they also have WAY less pieces than regular lego building sets, and are mostly bullshit like a lemonade stand and a dolphin cruise. WHO NEEDS TO MAKE A FIREHOUSE OR A SPACESHIP WHEN YOU CAN BE CUTE AND SELL LEMONADE?!
i HATE lego friends, and i don't even have a kid yet.

I have 3 girls and they love Lego Friends. They also love regular Legos. They mix and match their cutesy lemonade stands with their Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, spaceships, and firehouses. They play with all of it equally. I don't get the hate!
