We had a printer that was on its last leg. The internal tech had come out to un-jam it or something, and I had said I wanted to go Office Space on it so bad! He looked at me deadpanned and said "even broken they are worth good money, so I wound't want to break it" So he got the referenced but took all the joy out of the idea...

DH and I have been known to mutter "It's a mat...where you jump..." when we feel someone is jumping to conclusions. Now I want to watch it again today.

I posted a gif on Facebook of Samir cursing and banging his steering wheel from the opening scene of the movie. I got very few likes, which made me sad. DH and I quote it constantly.
Tamb, I'm afraid you may have been jumping to conclusions when you assumed your coworkers had watched this movie.
DH sometimes says 'jump to conclusions' and I always mention this mat. And once when I moved offices, my new office had a red stapler in it. It never worked right, but it was awesome to have.
I told my H about this thread and the first thing he said was, "it looks like somebody didn't get the memo."
The he was like, "OMG, that movie has given me such a complex. We have these big heavy mugs at work and I found myself holding one outside of one of my report's cubical one morning and I looked down and was like, 'yeah...' After that I make sure I don't carry my mug with me if I need to go talk to someone." LOL!
Office Space, Friday, and Friends quotes make up roughly 90% of my daily conversation.
My H and I basically communicate in Office Space and O Brother quotes.
Dude. We should hang out. DH and I can carry on full conversations in just movie quotes. "I SEEN 'ER FIRST!" is an acceptable response to any and all 'dibs' situations.
We watched Office Space last week on premium (HBO? Starz? Dunno) and it was hard to not react or cover the LOs ears. I forgot how Awesome that movie is when its unedited!
When people tell me that there is a movie I MUST see, because it is close to life-altering, two things may happen: (a) my expectations are so high that they are impossible to meet. Hence, the entire experience is a total disaster and I hate the movie forever and all the actors in it. I may also drink myself into oblivion in the process; or (b) my expectations are equally high and - hold your breath - everything everybody ever said was completely true and the movie is even better than expected. As a result, my life will never be the same.
So I watched Office Space yesterday evening, enjoying my wine, and I am a different person today! It was really incredibly funny and I had a blast!
Thanks to all of you. Grazie ragazze!! My usual quotes from Pulp Fiction, Black Adder, Suits and the Dowager Countess are now enriched with references to pet rocks, red staplers and the conclusion mat. I will probably watch it again soon and take notes.
