Got a text from our realtor at 8a asking for a showing today 9-11a. LOL...told her I could accommodate 11a after C's nap since we were going to Costco anyways. She relays the message and they say they will reschedule. DH says to allow 10-11 and just have them be quiet if C's asleep so I let my realtor know. She reaches out and they cancelled due to "health issues". So between 10p last night and 8a this morning there is a health issue causing yet another reschedule. On top of that I got the house totally prepared/cleaned up before hearing back from the agent. We have really horrible luck (this is the 4th no show/reschedule in the last 2 weeks and no other showings).
Go to Costco (is it bad that 1/3 of our bill was alcohol?) and get home/am unloading everything. DH calls to ask if we are ok? Apparently there was a shooting right next to Costco when we were over there. Thank God we were able to go there and back without any issue. I hope everyone else is ok as well...so scary
Currently GBCNing while drinking some coffee! Enjoying a little quiet time and then likely going for a walk once C wakes up!
Oh, and I bought DH's Christmas present! I'm pretty stoked...we both have very basic phones (not smartphones) but I have an old iPhone I use as an iPhone touch. He loves using it for Pandora, etc. He also used to listen to sermons and music while working out in the morning. Since C was born he can't (he used his computer and his weight room is across the hall from C's room...not taking chances of waking him up at 5:30 every morning)...anyways, I got DH an Apple Touch so he can listen to whatever he wants while working out!

I'm getting ready to head downtown in a bit for the basketball game. DH & I were planning to have dinner at Au Bon Pain since I had gotten a coupon in my email. Just went to print it and it's giving me an error. Boo! We'll probably still go since it's one of the cheaper/closer places and we don't have a ton of time, but I'm annoyed.
Also, if it's the same shooting that's all over the news, reports say at least 14 dead
It's the same shooting I just looked it up to see what happened. So so sad. And apparently there's 3 gunmen and I don't believe they have anyone in custody. Maybe we shouldn't go for a walk (we live a good 15-20 min away but you never know where they fled to). Also worried about DH and his ability to get home tonight.

As far as I can tell they don't have them in custody yet...I would not go out for a walk until they do

Yeah, we're staying inside. I hope they catch them soon and before any more lives are lost or more people are injured
How scary luv2rn4fun! So sad that this stuff keeps happening
I'm home sick today. I'm not sure if it's the stomach bug H had (maybe E too, but he's been teething so I figured it might be that.. who knows) or if I just got dehydrated after giving blood yesterday. I was fine until I was putting some clothes away in E's room last night and I just felt sick. Luckily I don't seem to have it as bad as H did but I just feel gross. Blah.
I've been watching Property Brothers as background noise and I'm amazed at how much they spend on stuff when they claim they're trying to save money. $900 chandelier? $2500 for drapes? I mean really. If you're really trying to save money, go get something at Target! Haha. Oh, and the husband on this episode just bought a TV and took money from the banister they were going to put in. I'd be pissed at H if he did that without even discussing it with me!
I'm really stressed out right now because H went to take out the broken old tv stand, and to do so he had to roll it over the grass. Well, he stepped in dog poop with both shoes and they are now covered in poop, I mean like smeared all over. It's raining, and he tried to clean his shoes off in the grass and on the cobblestones but nothing works. So he has these poopy-ass shoes. He wants to wash them in the washing machine. But I'm a germaphobe and I'm like, the washer will be poopy FOREVER! But I am so exhausted that I don't know if I give a shit, I'll just do like 10 tub clean cycles alternating bleach, vinegar, and baking soda lol.
I blame MIL for this shit. The old tv is a cast-off piece of crap from GMIL. Two years ago, when our old tv got fried during a lightning storm, MIL did a bait-and-switch where she said she was giving us GMIL's flat-screen tv, but then when we came to get it, MIL said she changed her mind and wanted that for herself (which is fine) and said we'd have to take the 200-lb CRT behemoth instead. But then H and I have NO BALLS WHATSOEVER and agreed to take it . And so we got that old tv and the stand it came with, and H was bitter about it ever since because the screen is way too small for our room.
Anyway, yesterday our new tv arrived and so H managed to slide the old one onto the floor using a couch cushion and some clever maneuvering. The stand is really busted up, so it was time to take it to the curb - and that's when the poopy shoe situation happened.
MIL frequently gives us, and continues to try to give us, her cast-off old junk that she doesn't want. And then gets upset when we say no.
Mostly I just feel stupid that we didn't buy a new tv two years ago. I am such a doormat, and I'm so tired of it.
Gaaaahhh my BFF just told me her wedding is planned for Nov next year. That's now our 6th wedding next year (and this one I'm sure I'll be in). SIX! We didn't have any this year! I'm excited, but damn this is going to be an expensive year! Haha.
luv2rn4fun Glad you are SAFE! That looked scary on the news.
I feel awful with sinus crud. I just laid down under my desk with the door closed to relax a little before heading home. Stress and sleeping with the window open the other night are probably culprits. Sucks.
I got to church early tonight so I'm enjoying a comfy chair and quiet phone time. I'm taking my middle school girls to Starbucks (their request. Seems excessive for middle school though to me...) and we're making Christmas tree ornaments. Fun night here!
luv2rn4fun SO glad you're safe! The shooting was all over the news at the doctor's office today and it's heartbreaking sorry about all the house cancellations. That keeps happening to my parents too and it's so frustrating.
MrsMB how lovely that you have a door you can shut to rest! I can't remember, are you going back to work? If so, how many weeks are you taking for ML?
@moonbeam I wouldn't want poop shoes in my washer either. Do you have a utility sink you could spray them off in, soak in vinegar/baking soda, then wash? That's what I do with M's poopy clothes.
suzv hooray for evals being done. I don't think I could teach while being observed. I'd be tempted to schedule a field trip by mistake ha-ha, I know it doesn't work like that but it does sound unfun. Do you get observed every year?
luv2rn4fun omg I can't believe you are right near the shooting that is all over national news! That is so scary and I'm glad you're okay! Also, when we were selling our house it was so incredibly frustrating when people cancelled or didn't show up at all, after I spent forever getting the house ready!
suzv I hope you can relax now that your observation is over! I hate getting observed (I'm a preschool speech therapist though).
Hope you feel better soon @estrellita! And I always think the same thing when watching those shows on HGTV, like when they have to cut out some of the stuff they wanted to do because of budget constraints, but still spend crazy amounts on decor. Like, buy more reasonable accessories and then you can do everything!
@moonbeam don't dwell on the fact that you should have gotten the tv 2 years ago, you have it now, and you can't change the past. I hope you get the poop situation straightened out, that's the worst! Have you tried scrubbing the bottoms with a brush?
DS has a 103.7 temp! We got it down with Tylenol followed by motrin two hours later. I am waiting for it to return. In the meantime I am stressing about what to do about work if it comes back since H can't stay home with him tomorrow.
H and I are contemplating a fake Christmas tree. I am so torn about getting a fake one but it seems so much easier.
I ended up scraping out the poop from H's shoes outside with a twisty tie and rinsing with the garden hose. This took some time since the hose was already put away for the winter. H considers the shoes clean enough not to need to wash in the washer, so I'm satisfied lol. I don't need dog poop in my washer. We don't have a utility sink.
I am so over the moon now! dd #2 my SN non verbal kid has been doing so well lately. I put the girls to bed every evening, I LOVE it now when I kiss and hug them I get a muffled/decipherable "good night I LOVE YOU" guys it's awesome. She is six and has said I love you a hand full of times her entire life. It's now becoming a nightly thing. I'm so excited, it makes me want to cry I freaking love that kid.

Yes this x1000 I'm telling you get a prelit tree. I hate x-mas and I got a pre-lit tree and I haven't looked back, decorating is SO much enjoyable.
Thanks ladies! So sad and scary that this happened, especially so close to home. My hear is heavy for all the families and friends involved.
melsamoony- hope your DS feels better soon! We have a fake tree...I was totally against it at first but I really don't mind it now. Much easier and financially make sense. Otherwise there's no way we would have a tree every year because they are too much money.

You cleaned his poop shoes? I think you're a better wife than me. I would absolutely make him take care of that.
luv2rn4fun I'm so glad you guys are safe and okay. How scary!
@moonbeam I agree with amaranth I would not have taken care of this haha!
estrellita I feel ya on the weddings. We had 7 last year, I was in 3 and a personal attendant in one and guests at the remainder. I don't even want to know what we spent... This year we lucked out with NONE, only to bite us in the butt for next year. We already have 4 lined up... Oy vey! Time to start saving for yet another thing...
I was SO beyond productive today. I felt great. I'm trying to get as much stuff done this week before my first day off this next week (haven't been off work since Novemver 1st) I can't wait to do whatever I want lol!!!
I am finally at an age now where most of our weddings are behind us, we're down to only one a year or so. For a few years there we had so many (and between us were in quite a few) and since we lived far away, they required a lot of plane tickets. I love weddings but the costs really can add up!

I was kinda surprised because I thought we had most of them over with but apparently not! 3 of them are sorority sisters (including BFF), 2 are good friends from college (also Greek) and my cousin. 2 in June, 1 in July, 2 in Oct and 1 in Nov. At least the furthest we'll be traveling is a few hours but I have to figure out what to do with E!

Yeah...now he owes me...I'm going to have him pick up something delicious for dinner lol.
