Anyone else use it? My dentist wants me to use it because my enamel is thin.
I cannot get paste not rinsing my mouth out after I brush. I would say I forget 75% of the time and when I remember, it feels so gross to still have toothpaste residue in my mouth.
I don't usually rinse my mouth after brushing. Does that make me weird?
So you just brush and let all the residue hang out in your mouth? And swallow it?
Ew I don't swallow it! I brush my teeth, spit it out, and then do my tongue and spit it all out. I constantly rinse the toothbrush as I'm doing my tongue so that introduces some water. I don't feel like I'm left with foamy, bubbly toothpaste residue all over. I've never taken a swig of water and swished it to rinse out my mouth. I never knew how weird this was! I do sometimes use Listerine but not regularly.
I've been using it for maybe two years and adhere to the no rinsing/no eating or drinking rule afterward about half the time. The dentist has said, however, that the cavities we're monitoring are not growing larger, so it seems to be having a positive effect.
The other important factor is to not brush your teeth after you eat something acidic. You don't want to rub an enamel-eroding substance against your teeth. Consequently, I eat after brushing in the morning and don't worry about it.
I forget and accidentally rinse at least 50% of the time. Then I swear, put more toothpaste on the brush and just "apply" it for lack of a better term. Then inevitably I've forgotten my morning medication and have to drink water and fuck it up again.
