I'm waaaaaaay behind on my goal of one book a week. Looking back at what I read this year, I choose a lot of heavy and/or long books. Gone with the Wind is like a thousand pages! I'm averaging a week and a half per book, but I'm going to try to catch up! Please recommend any engrossing, short-ish books I can read in a few days. (lips)
What about YA or middle grade books? I enjoyed Leigh Bardugo's Shadow and Bone trilogy and The Mysterious Benedict Society (the first one more than two and three, but those weren't bad).
Slade House and The Diver's Clothes Lie Empty were my shortest books recently. I usually grab mysteries for fast reads.

Everything Everything The Night We Said Yes Station Eleven
I don't know if you count novellas toward your goal but there are tons of them that are under 100 pages. I recently read and enjoyed the Grownup by Gillian Flynn.

Yes, I'm counting novellas and short stories, so long as I can download them on their own and not as part of an anthology. Not sure if that makes sense. I guess I make my own reading rules - lol.
No comment on how she's viewed politically, but Ayn Rand's novella Anthem is one of my favorite books. It's in the public domain so you can download it for free, and it only takes about 45 minutes to read.
