1. Shoes I LOVE but hurt my feet ( and I never wear). Are there really any options to stretch them (not expensive enough shoes to take to a cobbler)
2. Clothes that are two sizes too small, but fit in 2014. So it's not like I'm holding onto something ten years old. I gained weight due to medication and could probably lose it if I got off my ass and did something about it but I lack motivation). Not a ton of clothes mostly summer stuff plus jeans but jeans are like $100 jeans.
For painful but loved shoes--get a pair or nice thick fuzzy socks, soak the parks that are tight and hurt your feet in some rubbing alcohol, wear them around. This may stretch them out and make them comfortable.

I've been up and down the same 20# so many times due to medical issues and med changes.
From someone who got rid of all her bigger stuff during the last downswing, id recommend clearing it from your closet but keeping it in storage that's out of the way.

Free yourself camp, especially on shoes that do not work, but I gained 40 pounds in 4 months at the end of last year, August to December, due to health issues, and this year, I have now lost 20 of those pounds, August to now, and keep losing, so I would box the clothes, if you think there is a good chance you will be in a similar situation. I got rid of everything I didn't love, but I kept enough stuff that I don't have to run out and buy new stuff. I hate to shop for clothes, so it would be de-motivating for me to "get" to go buy new ones. I did not keep anything that was smaller than I was before the debacle that caused the weigh gain, which I had a lot of, since the reverse of the same thing caused me to lose a bunch of weight after my DD was born, to a size that is inconceivable to me now. If that happens again, and I become a stick figure, I can buy new clothes.
So I tossed the shoes except one pair that I can wear for short periods of time. Kept 2 pair of the pricey jeans and some shorts because I can never find shorts I like. Oh and three dresses bc they were expensive.
