Is anyone here a Star Wars fan? Are you excited for the new movie or meh?
Honestly I could care less, but I'll see it at some point because I've watched all the rest. I enjoy them well enough once or twice through, but I won't be racing to the midnight showing. I'm honestly surprised by all the hype since most people disliked 1-3 anyway.
Not to threadjack, but google #TFAforNathan. That's a friend of mine who has ALS who is trying to get a home screening of it. The story got picked up by USAToday so they are hopefully close to getting this accomplished.
I'm sort of a fan, H is more though. We've been doing a marathon of the movies since I hadn't seen episodes 2 and 3 and it's been so long since I saw the others. We're trying to find out if our local theater is going to get the movie, otherwise we will probably go sometime in town. Not opening night or anything though, lol. I think it will be interesting to see what they do with it!

I have never seen any of the Star Wars movies and have no interest in this one....but DH does want to see it so I told him if he'll pay for my ticket, I'll go along.
I went to see Revenge of the Sith on opening day in 2005, and it was exciting because all the hardcore fans were there. I'm not hugely interested in the series, but I do enjoy it. H is more into it. We might go to the theater to watch, but I'll probably just get it from the library later.
So our local theater IS going to be showing it Thu night (the 17th). Hmmm... decisions. I only work a half day Fri because E has an appointment and I wanted to do some shopping. I wonder if seeing it Thu night or waiting for the weekend would be less busy. This is a fairly small town but it is a cheap (but still nice) theater. Sooo tempting to see it opening night!

Thursday night will be INSANE. Tickets will be sold out, without a doubt. I've found that Saturday or Sunday early matinees are the least busy time of opening weekend for big movies.

In this town though I'm not sure. The city I live in is I think around 2500 people (to me this is TINY!). The downtown area is always super dead. I rarely see people around anywhere other than maybe their own yards. Maybe I'm misjudging but for some reason I can't see this particular theater being busy.. ever, lol. The bigger city (where we work and used to live) has a movie theater that I know will be packed because that's where most people are going to want to go. I suppose I could be totally wrong though! I was kinda thinking Thu night would be less busy just because people would have school and work the next day so Fri/Sat nights would be busier but that's a good point about the earlier showings on the weekends. The show times only went out to the 17th so I'll have to see what times they will have!
DH wants to see it as soon as it comes out but I'm pretty meh. If he sees it after Christmas I'll go with him, but if he goes when it first comes out I won't. It will be way to busy for me.
