We will be there for 2 days in January. DH has never been. I've been once, years ago but we stayed off the Strip and I don't remember much. Something centrally located would be a plus.

We're staying at The Linq in April when we go. I have not stayed there before (it was the Imperial Palace before and is very newly renovated) but a friend of ours has been and said she really liked it. It is budget-friendly, which I like.
If budget was not a huge concern, I would do Bellagio, Cosmopolitan, The Wynn or Caesar's.
@32flavors, centrally located, under $200 a night are really all I'm looking for
RexManningDay Jan 2-4. We are going to a football game in Phoenix on the 1st but the only flights we could find were to Vegas so we are going to stay out for a few days.

I recently stayed at Cosmopolitan and it was fabulous!!! I was upgraded to this massive suite for no reason which made it even better. It was centrally located and they tend to offer good rates.
It's gorgeous inside the casino area...very new feeling, not run down, smelly and dirty looking like Treasure Island for example. We had a lovely view of the strip, and the room was beautifully decorated....curtains that opened via remote, large jacuzzi tub, double sinks etc. It's at the end of the strip but it's not hard to get a cab in that town.
I like a lot of the places already listed. The Cosmopolitan is probably the best choice for you because it's young, cool, and central. Aria is similar but slightly less young/cool. LOL.
Bellagio is lovely, but I agree with @koko that it's a bit stodgier and skews older. Wynn and Encore are great but way down toward the end of the Strip. I think Palazzo and Venetian are nice, too, but suffer from the same Bellagio syndrome (although they are not as stodgy).
But, after all this, I'll always be a Caesars girl. Admittedly I stay there for free, but it's just my fave home away from home in Vegas, and it is absolutely central and classic Vegas. If you go, definitely get a room in a newer tower (like Augustus, Octavius, or Julius). The old tower rooms suck.

If you're interested in Aria or The Cosmopolitan, sign up for their email notifications. Last time we stayed there we had a special room rate + a $75 food credit.
