I don't have a regular hair person. I went to a new guy several months ago to get it cut, and got bangs for the first time in a long time. Yesterday I went back to that same guy to get the bangs trimmed. it took less than 2 minutes and he said there was no charge. Is that normal? I should still give him a trip, right? How much would you say? The original cut was $45 I think, just for some context.
I generally give a tip if there's no charge for a bang trim. $5 usually, $10 if it's all I've got on hand.
If they charge for a trim (which I've had happen recently) I round up if it's easy to do so. So $8 bang trim i'd give $10. I generally don't tip on paid bang trims though since it involves small bills I don't normally have on hand.
I had a place charge me $15 for a bang trim. I have had bangs my entire life and never have seen that outrageous of a cost. It's usually $5-10, or more often than not its free. I didn't tip at all on the $15 place.
Thanks! I did give him $5, but I was caught off guard by the whole thing and wasn't sure if that was enough? I guess i should go back to this guy next time I want a cut again. I'm trying to grow it out long enough to donate.
