Talking? She has 2 words - dada/daddy and hi (which sounds like 'haaaaaaaiiii' but it counts)
Favorite food? Anything. Totally not picky.
Nap schedule? 2 naps a day, 1-1.5 hours around 9:30 and 1:30
Favorite thing about this age? Everything. I love watching her learn and try. She responds to 'requests' like 'clap your hands' and it just makes me giddy.
Least favorite thing? Bedtime meltdowns. Oh my god if she's not in bed when she's tired the world knows.
Anything else you want to talk about? I worry about when she's more active, I think she's going to be exhausting.
Talking? Yes! She says mommy, dada, book, yummy, more, dog, this, bye bye, and something that sounds like orange as she frantically points at the fruit bowl.
Favorite food? Blueberries
Nap schedule? She's down to one nap. She's goes down between 12-1 and sleeps for about 2 hours.
Favorite thing about this age? She's so curious and freaking adorable. She's really starting to like books and will sit to be read to now instead of wanting to gnaw on the book.
Least favorite thing? She's a drama llama!
Anything else you want to talk about? She is not STTN yet and she's a stage 5 clinger to me. It's exhausting sometimes.
Are they walking yet? He started walking shortly after his 1st birthday
Talking? Not a ton. He reliably says mama, dada, wawa (water), momo (pacifier, he made this up) and ball. He has more signs than words.
Favorite food? Berries and chips. These make up about 90% of his solid diet
Nap schedule? Just over the past week, we've mostly transitioned to one nap. On good day, it's roughly noon-3pm
Favorite thing about this age? I LOVE this age. He is so much fun, and so funny. I love that we are starting to laugh at things together, and I love when he does things to make me laugh. He is so silly, and such a funny dancer. Life is starting to get so much easier, as he is sleeping better and can communicate some of his basic wants. I could do without the tantrums, but everything else about this age is my favorite.
Least favorite thing? LOL, see above. The whining! Ball. BBBBAAAAAALLLLLLLLL. Tears. No, chip. CCCHHHIIIIIPPPPP. Pick me up, why am I up? DOWN! He wants everything he doesn't have. He wants to eat and drink whatever is mine, even if he has the same thing, or better. Luckily, he is still very easily distracted, so the tears only last 10 seconds or so.
Anything else you want to talk about? I totally thought I was a newborn person. I am not. Next time, I want to birth a 12 month old.
Talking? No, he babbles "dada" sometimes but I don't think it's purposeful yet. He can sign "milk" though!
Favorite food? Cheese, oranges, waffles
Nap schedule? Usually morning and early afternoon, like 9:30-11 and 1-3 ish.
Favorite thing about this age? He is starting to STTN more often than not (knock wood)! He's also super adorable and interactive. He loves people. His cheeks are delightfully nommable.
Least favorite thing? Having to do damage control since he has no sense of danger yet. Like, noooo you can't poke the dog in the eye/lick shoes/eat dust bunnies whole.
Anything else you want to talk about? What are you putting in your baby's stocking? I would say nothing but C would notice. We already have stuff like teethers, board books, the usual.
Anything else you want to talk about? What are you putting in your baby's stocking? I would say nothing but C would notice. We already have stuff like teethers, board books, the usual.
I have a couple of packs of pacifiers, chapstick (he LOVES chapstick tubes, I don't know why), an electric toothbrush, and some snacks that he likes. I could probably just stuff it with tissue paper and he'd be happy.
Are they walking yet? Nope, not even crawling. She's trying really hard though!
Talking? Adorable babbling. Vah, Mom mom, da da, and ah-zoo (which we think is DS's name).
Favorite food? Fruit, particularly pineapple. Pears are a fav too. But her face lit up when she tried pineapple for the first time, she couldn't get enough!
Nap schedule? 2x a day, usually from 9:30-10:30 and 2-4. Bedtime at 7:30.
Favorite thing about this age? She's such an easy, sweet baby, she's amazing. If I had to pick ONE thing, it would be how she pumps her arms and legs when she's excited. Like when she sees DH when he gets home from work, or the cat gets close to her. She's in love with the cat.
Least favorite thing? Her nighttime sleep is currently pretty shitty, thanks to snuffy nose (perpetually thanks to big brother being in preschool), teething, and trying to crawl. She only sleeps 2-3hrs at a time these days. If I get 4 hours straight that's good
Anything else you want to talk about? I am SO GLAD we had another baby. She's made our whole family better people. She warms DH's heart after his long days at work, she's taught DS patience and sharing, and me the value of stopping my crazy wind-up brain for quiet snuggles. She's amazing.
Talking? She says "mama', "dada", and a mix between hi and bye.
Favorite food? bananas, green beans, yogurt, chicken
Nap schedule? Usually something like 9:15-10, and 1:30-3
Favorite thing about this age? Everything! She is so much fun. She starts waving to DH when he puts on his coat to leave in the morning. I love watching her learn those new tricks.
Least favorite thing? The whining. I can see it starting.

How old is your kid? 12.5 months
Are they walking yet? Yes - been walking for like 2.5 months
Talking? No I *think* she says "night night". it sounds like "ni ni" (rhymes with "hi"), but doesn't say "dada" or "mama" to either of us yet
Favorite food? Clementines. I try to limit so she doesn't get sores in her mouth, but she'd probably eat like 6 if I let her
Nap schedule? Still 2 naps, but morning nap is dwindling in time, I think it's about to go.
Favorite thing about this age? Watching her learn new things & play with her cousins
Least favorite thing? Honestly? It's kind of an exhausting stage. She doesn't talk, but is into everything, so she has a lot of temper tantrums when we say no or she gets tired or can't tell us what she wants.
Anything else you want to talk about? Brie - I'd do some consumable's - puffs, veggie straws, pouches, and maybe some socks or a new hat. I don't think we're going to do anything, but I know both grandparents are going to go overboard, so I'm not worried.
Are they walking yet? Nope, just lots of furniture cruising. When you try to stand him up independently, he falls forward like he's doing a trust fall. He thinks it's HILARIOUS. Um, that's not how it works, kid.
Talking? He will repeat da da, ma ma, ba ba, uh oh. The only thing he "knows" is no-no because he will shake his head no when you say it. He picked that up at daycare.
Favorite food? Broccoli, carrots, chili
Nap schedule? Non-existent. Maybe 45 minute midday at daycare. On the weekends, we aim for a nap at 10:30 and another one at 2:30, but we have to fight him on it.
Favorite thing about this age? He's such a little person! Every day is a new discovery. I can't wait until he gives hugs and kisses.
Least favorite thing? The whining and hanging off of me.
Anything else you want to talk about? We are going to wean soon so I'm having all of the feels about that. He doesn't clap his hands yet. He loves Pat the Bunny and Where's Spot? It's so fun to watch him with those two books.

How old is your kid? 11 months Are they walking yet? Cruising furniture but not walking. He crawls so fast that I don't think he's very motivated to try walking yet.
Talking? A few words - car, dada, hi, duck, what's that? and his current favorite, uh oh
Favorite food? Cheese, bread, pancakes, pretty much anything he sees us eating
Nap schedule? Still sketchy at times - lately a short morning nap, and then around 1.5 hours starting anywhere from 1:00 to 3:00
Favorite thing about this age? Watching his silly personality coming through, and how interactive he is. He loves to flirt and tries to get people's attention in public, which is so funny to watch. His baby chatter is so funny too, with inflection like he's asking questions or holding a conversation.
Least favorite thing? The constant supervision he needs because he wants to taste-test everything he comes across and investigate anything he can get his hands on; DD's toys with little pieces are a big danger right now! Also his still-crappy overnight sleep, and how clingy he can be for me.
Anything else you want to talk about? How did this year go by so quickly?!? I'm having a LOT of feelings right now about him almost turning 1 because we're 99% sure we're done having kids. I don't want to lose my bayyybeeee quite yet!
Brie For stocking, I am doing toothbrush, training toothpaste, sippy cup, bibs (he still drools a ton), egg shaped crayons, some Crayola markers that say they are for 12+ months.
Are they walking yet? Nope, but he's getting there
Talking? I'm really surprised how many words he has used (ok, they're not totally clear or consistent, but still I didn't expect him to have much of anything). He does: Mama, Dada, du[ck], ba[ll/lloon], "whoa" (at the Christmas tree, it's the cutest), hi, bu bu (bye), ba (sheep)
Favorite food? Sweet carbs (cake, graham crackers, muffins, etc) like his mother.
Nap schedule? 10 & 2
Favorite thing about this age? Seeing him learn so much - it's really neat
Least favorite thing? Tantrums. I thought they'd start later, but no such luck.
Loves? Peek-a-boo, knocking things over, anything with a cable

How old is your kid? 15 months and change.
Are they walking yet? Been running for a few months now.
Talking? Yes, some. He does a lot of sign, and has several words. He's pretty picky about what he says out loud.
Favorite food? Bananas! But he loves mac and cheese. Just like his mama.
Nap schedule? Depends on when he gets up. If he gets up before 7, he has nap at 9, then again at 1. If he sleeps in a bit, we do one nap at around 12:30.
Favorite thing about this age? That everything is new and exciting, and he wants to copy everything his sister does (which isn't always a good thing).
Least favorite thing? THE TANTRUMS OMG.
Anything else you want to talk about? We got Santa pictures and he didn't even cry! He smiled and laughed and we got some great shots.
Are they walking yet? Yes, she started right before her first birthday
Talking? Just a few words. Mama, dada, na-na (no) and duh-duh (dog). She's said a bunch of other words, but nothing consistent.
Favorite food? sweet potatoes, bread
Nap schedule? One nap, at daycare usually 1-2:30, at home more like 12-3
Favorite thing about this age? Watching her learn new things everyday, like today I watched her tuck in her baby doll with a blanket which she didn't know yesterday. She gives the best open mouthed slobbery kisses.
Least favorite thing? Constantly wondering if she is teething and needs Motrin.
Anything else you want to talk about? STTN has been very inconsistent lately due to bad habits formed when she was sick. There's been lots of MOTN shenanigans.
Also we are down to one nursing session and are working on weaning before the new year. It's very bittersweet.

How old is your kid? 11.5 months
Are they walking yet? Close but not yet
Talking? mama, ball, and "ba" for book
Favorite food? yogurt
Nap schedule? 2 naps. Naps have been frustrating lately. I'm trying to keep bedtime no later than 7:30 (DH and I go to bed early too) so I wake him by 7a, nap around 9/9:30-10/11. Afternoon nap is 3 hrs later and usually doesn't fall asleep for a good 30 min and I have to wake him by 3:30 (I went 3:15 for afternoon nap today and it wasn't a battle). Probably need to shorten the morning nap and work towards dropping to one nap in the next month or so.
Favorite thing about this age? I love this age! He has so much energy, is very curious and constantly learning. He makes me laugh all the time. He babbles away like he's telling me stories. He's a pretty happy baby and loves to be out and about and is great with strangers.
Least favorite thing? Biting and the tantrums. I'm already over both of these things and he's not even a toddler yet.
Anything else you want to talk about? C nurses 4x/day. I'm dropping at least 2 (the midday ones) when he turns 1 and am contemplating full weaning (mostly because of the 2 weeks of biting). I have all the feels...I have LOVED breastfeeding him and am not quite ready to give it up (I think he still likes to but maybe the biting is also a sign...he also loves to eat so he'll be fine either way). ewall- C does the falling forward thing too. He's totally going to face plant so many times Poppy- C absolutely loves peek-a-boo...makes him belly laugh all the time!

How old is your kid?
12.5 months.
Are they walking yet?
Yep! Trying to run, especially after the cats. Started full on walking at 11.5 months.
Talking?
Up to 15 words and a few short phrases: "Hi, kitty," "hi, papa" and "bye-bye, papa." Newest words are tree, sissy, and "gramma." Working on shado (one of our cats), cuddle and hug.
Favorite food?
Boob, avocado, bananas, mama's dark chocolate, cottage cheese, lemons, fruit pouches, and anything we're eating (not on her tray unless she actually likes it).
Nap schedule?
Just wing it. She nurses to sleep. 2-3 naps ranging from 45 minutes to two hours.
Favorite thing about this age?
This stage is so fun. Love the curiosity, language development, interacting with the environment, making connections, developing their personalities and likes/dislikes. Recently she caught on to our getting after one of the cats messing with the Christmas tree. We say "Shado, stop it!" a lot. She calls them kitty. So a few days ago Shado was messing with the tree lights and Ruby blurted rather loudly "Kitty!" and today tried saying her name, which came out as "sha-oh."
Least favorite thing?
Uh... the fits/tantrums. Throwing her head back when she doesn't get her way. I don't remember my other kids doing this this soon. They didn't do the head throwing thing at all. She is incredibly sweet, silly, cute, but can be feisty and persistent.
Anything else you want to talk about?
She is all about the boob. Wants nothing to do with any other milk or sippy cup. None of it. My other kids were on goat's or WCM (12-16 oz) by this point and were taking sippy cups between 4.5-6 months. She has no interest. Still nurses 8-10+ times a day.
He started walking about a week after his birthday.
He says mama, dada, dog, uhoh and something that sounds like car. He's just started shaking his head no.
His favorite food is my pumpkin muffins or sweet potatoes/potatoes/anything meat. He's a very big eater! He eats more than his 5 year old sister sometimes, who admittedly can eat like a bird.
He takes 1-2 naps a day. One in the morning and one in the afternoon.
I love to watch him learn and grow. He's becoming a really great walker and watching him chase after his sister is a delight. He's a pretty independant player, but he'll still come up to me with books to read for a minute before he throws it across the room. He's started giving hugs and makes a kissing sound.
I wish he were more verbal, but that's because I only have experience with my daughter at this age and she was a very verbal toddler. Oh! I also wish he would stop throwing food off his high chair as his signal that he's done eating.
Favorite food? he eats ANY.THING. It's actually amazing. he did LOVE the chocolate glazed donut he got to eat on his birthday, though
Nap schedule? Still two... but first one is short... usually around 9:30 and then again around 1:30-2 unitl about 3.
Favorite thing about this age? He's very observant... you can see him learning/observing... trying to let me know what's on his mind... LOVE that he's more interactive and hugs/makes kissy noises back at me
Least favorite thing? The beginning of the tantrum has begun. The screeching... the arch back ...
Anything else you want to talk about? No MAMA yet WTF, kid?! I also wish he was more verbal. I was really hoping for an early talker... I mean I know he's well with in normal.. but ... I was hoping he'd be early for talking stuff...

Except for the walking... our sons seem very much on par LOL
How old is your kid? He'll be 9 months this month. I figure I'm close enough to qualify for this thread!
Are they walking yet? No. What's so crazy is that three days ago, I told H he'd probably be a late stander/walker because he had no interest in standing with support and no balance whatsoever. 48 hours later, he was standing at his activity table. Things change SO fast at this age!
Talking? No, just lots of noises. We think he's saying hi, but we're not positive.
Favorite food? I let him have a taste of this delicious home-cooked (not by me) mac and cheese, and he LOVED it. Just like me. His favorite pouch is Apple/spinach/kale. Not like me!
Nap schedule? Two naps at daycare: 9:15-10:15 and 1:30-3:30.
Favorite thing about this age? He is so fun and turning into a little person!
Least favorite thing? He army crawls SO FAST. Chasing him around and redirecting him is kind of exhausting!
Anything else you want to talk about? When do they learn to give kisses? I'm excited for that. Also, he is doing well at PT for his torticolis. He has surpassed two goals and is progressing on his other three. And one more question: how did your kids react to Santa (if applicable)? DS adored him, which did not surprise me. He loves everyone who gives him attention!

L started giving kisses and hugs around 8.5 ish months, I think... his "kisses" are just lowering his head to your shoulder/head/whatever though. But he does pat your back when hugging. Around 10 ish months or so, he started making kissy noises back when we'd just make pucker kissy faces at him.
How old is your kid? 13 month old boy/girl twins! Are they walking yet? Not yet
Talking? They say mama and dada, but aren't really consistent about identifying us.
Favorite food? They like most everything. They especially love mac n cheese, clementines, cheese, etc.
Nap schedule? Daycare they only take 1 nap at around noon. At home they will nap for an hour or two around 10 and 2
Favorite thing? So interactive, and they like to play games and copy what we do.
Least Favorite thing? No sense of self preservation. They put anything in their mouths they find, they're wobbly and fall over a lot.
Anything else you want to talk about? I'm dying for them to start walking. A lot of their day care classmates have started walking and they're getting heavy to carry both of them around. They are so comfortable cruising, I feel like it has to be coming soon.
krystee - DD has been doing kisses for a few months, they are open mouth kisses so very drooly! DS hasn't done them yet.
Brie - for stocking stuffers I'm doing sippy cups, plastic forks/spoons, toothbrushes, toothpaste, hair brushes (as they are obsessed with the one we have an constantly fight over it)
