Buy a pack of 7th Gen Free and Clear diapers to use until it's better. My kids have super sensitive skin and couldnt/can't wear anything else. The chemical that is used in the gelling agent in most diapers is really irritating. I imagine it would feel better not to have that against his skin until it's better.

Oh, poor kiddo!
We CD, but one time when our washing machine broke I bought a pack of pampers. DD2 got a huge chemical burn and open sores. She healed much faster then I thought she would. Hopefully your kiddo will too know that you know it's fungal.

Ds2 had a persistent nasty yeast rash a few months ago and the various pharmacy creams I tried wouldn't clear it up (clotrimozole and hydrocortizone) which had always worked before. What eventually did (really quickly) was coconut oil with a couple drops of tea tree oil.
The anti fungal cream with triple paste on top. Also if possible wipe with a warm wash cloth. Ds gets bad rashes where it bleeds and he's in so much pain.
DS2 had terrible diaper rash on antibiotics once. After much trial and error, what worked for him was to stop using wipes. A warm washcloth in a blotting motion. And then drying him really well with another dry washcloth. I tried every variety of Desitin, Butt Paste, A&D, etc., but I think the washcloths helped the most. Hugs.
The fastest way we clear it up is mixing Vaseline with anti fungal foot cream and slathering it on after every diaper change. It chews through the diapers though so the only one I found that doesn't disintegrate is pampers
Motrin for pain and we also use neosporin with pain reliever before applying the mix. We soak the wipes in water and keep them in a separate bag.

I hope he's on the mend and feeling a lot better!
He is way less red today, and it's way less widespread. A lot fewer spots overall and it generally looks like it's getting better. But now.. he has three spots that are open wounds.
We have prescription anti fungal cream and are only allowed to use it 3 times a day. The rest of the day we've been doing aquaphor.
Now that those spots opened, I did neosporin on them and then aquaphor over everything and put him back in a fuzzy sleeper without a diaper.
Ugh, that's the worst. My kiddo has FPIES and the open, raw bottom is a reaction to foods for us. When we were trying anything and everything for relief, we found the antifungal and baking soda baths actually made those open spots a LOT worse. I know he has a fungal rash, so you need to keep using the antifungal, but maybe just keep an eye on if that is making those open places even more raw.
The rash itself, is it spotted/raised bumps or is it more like a burn? If it's more like a burn, have you tried new foods lately?
eta: I only ask because our doctor misdiagnosed his frequent rashes as always fungal when they weren't always fungal. I got to where I could tell a difference and the treatments are pretty different depending on the rash.
