We have a ton of family out of state and during the holidays my kids get lots of packages. Yesterday a Lego set came in the mail addressed to my sons from toys r us. I looked at the slip and didn't recognize the sender but assumed maybe it was one of my husbands work associates. When he woke up this morning I asked who the sender was and he has no idea.
I googled the persons name and found this old archived post from the bump. The post is from 09 and i can't get the responses to load. Our package came from the same name and city. Now I'm wondering if this is some scam. How'd they get my kids names and know that they love Legos? Is my bank account being drained as we speak?
"FED Ex just rang our doorbell and dropped off a package to DH from Sams Club that was sent overnight shipping. We aren't members there so I assumed someone was sending a Christmas present. I called DH to ask if he ordered anything from there and he said no to I opened it and it was a Fisher Price Laugh and Learn Musical Table.
I dug for the receipt and saw it was from someone we have never heard of! A ........I googled him and got a blank facebook page with all the contact info blocked and found some pictures of a jazz player in NY with that name?
Anyways I'm really creeped out and not sure what to do. Who is this guy? How does he have DH's name and our address? And most importantly how does he know we have a little one to send this toy too?
Maybe I'm overreacting but I'm kind of scared and not sure what to do.. any advice?
I have his full name and address as it's on the packing slip"
Lurker here, we had this happen with Toys R Us before. It was something my son had specifically asked for and came from someone we didn't know. It freaked me out as well! It turned out my sister had sent it and the store system had somehow mixed up the sender information.
