Ohio State Reps Want To Make Women Choose Burial Or Cremation For Aborted Fetuses
They’re certainly going after their mileage with the ginned up Planned Parenthood controversy.
Ohio state representatives Robert McColley and Kyle Koehler are asking their colleagues to co-sponsor a “proper disposal of product of conception” bill.
Throughout the 300-word letter, McColley and Koehler assiduously avoid the term “fetus.”
We will soon be introducing legislation that seeks to promote and protect the dignity of the unborn through proper burial or cremation and strengthen Ohio’s laws on informed consent.
I can only imagine what garish provisions they have in mind for “strengthening” Ohio’s laws on informed consent.
Currently, Ohio Revised Code prohibits the trafficking of the products of conception yet fails to establish protocols regarding the humane disposal of aborted infants.
Aborted infants, gentlemen, really?
This bill would require the Ohio Department of Health to establish rules for the proper disposal of the product of conception and define humane disposal as earthly burial or cremation.
Yes, there has been nothing humane about benefitting from the study of fetal tissue to develop ubella, varicella and polio vaccines. And certainly nothing humane about continuing to study fetal tissue to help prevent and cure fetal abnormalities and diseases. But do go on.
Under this legislation, a pregnant woman who has an abortion has the right to determine the final disposition of the aborted infant by providing written notice to the clinic on a form provided by the Ohio Department of Health. The mother may direct the clinic to dispose of the aborted infant either by earthly burial or by cremation.
You see? The woman in question has all the choice in the world; at least, all the choices that conform to Messrs. McColley and Koehler’s specifications.
This provision has nothing at all to do with rubbing a painful experience in the woman’s face by making her commit in writing whether her “infant” shall be “buried or cremated.”
This bill would also require the abortion clinic to document the pregnant woman’s decision in their medical record. Lastly, this bill would criminalize the transfer of an aborted infant’s remains across state lines for purposes other than burial or cremation.
We hope you will join us in this effort to provide the defenseless unborn with dignity and respect.

Do I get to choose how all of my medical waste is disposed of?
I have no idea what happened to my enormous uterine fibroid. He was at *least* the size of 20 weeks gestation and even had a name, Bosephus. It now seems so wrong that I have no idea what happened to him.

There's a weird article in our local paper about Mike DeWine, our AG. He was saying that PP was putting fetuses in landfills or something like that. I can find the link and post it.
My husband's comment: Mike Dewine has finally become like the crazy uncle you hide away in the attic. (He didn't like him to begin with for various reasons.)
