I've had terrible dark circles my whole life. They are totally genetic. On a good day with great sleep it looks like I have two black eyes without makeup. I'm pretty decent at covering them up, but now that I'm a SAHM I wear makeup less often. I would like to find something to help them because now that I have a toddler and a newborn they are worse than ever before.
Anyone find any miracle eye cream that actually lessens the appearance of dark circles?
Can you swipe a little eye brightener makeup on them even if you don't put any other makeup on? I love Benefit Eye Bright. It blends well enough that I've worn it without any other makeup before and it's not noticeable. It's in a pencil form.
Same. The only thing that made a lick of difference was Bobbi Brown corrector. I use light bisque because I'm so pale. Benefit Erase Paste is similar but settled into my fine lines.
Unfortunately creams will only help so much. We just genetically have thin skin there so the blood vessels show more. It sounds counterintuitive but if you are looking for a cream, look for one with plumping in its list of benefits.
Honestly I just embraced looking like a sleep deprived new mom for a number of months. At least people were nice to me.
Big Bobbi Brown fan. I suggest taking a little time and going to a BB counter, if you have one. Their whole approach is to help women look natural, so you don't have to worry about walking away looking like a completely different person. It's pricey, but so worth it.
My other suggestion is the Amazing Concealer from Amazing Cosmetics. It's harder to find in a store, and it's hard to tell colors online. But, I use that pretty much everyday.
Great suggestions! Thank you! I just wish I could wake up and not have to put makeup on them. It also makes me sad that my daughter totally has my dark circles and I hate that there isn't a product she can use when she's older, so she doesn't have to cover them up daily like I do.

My son has them so he's just altogether screwed.
If you're game, there's a technique popular with YouTube vloggers right now called "baking" your concealer. I think I'm going to try it today.

I feel this way about my super blonde eye lashes. I wish I didn't have to deal with mascara every single day. But it will be many years before your daughter cares, so hopefully they'll have a solution by then!
Apparently genetics have a lot to do with dark circles. I have bad ones as well.
I don't like most brightening undereye stuff; they tend to crease in my eye easily. My current regimen that seems to be working very well is Urban Decay Eden eye primer under my eyes (it's actually a an eyeshadow primer to go on the upper lids, but I use it under my eyes) plus Hard Candy Glamoflage concealer on top, which is a cheap dupe for Amazing concealer. You can get the Hard Candy stuff at Walmart, and the UD stuff at Ulta or Sephora.

Remember that weird YouTube video with the girl who covers her under eyes with red and it looks amazing in the end? I looked on the colour wheel afterwards and worked out that I need to use yellow concealer on my face. It's amazing! My dark circles go immediately and I look so awake and bright.
You basically use the opposite colour from the colour of your bags. The one I use is Physicians formula.
Try and YouTube the video I'm talking about so it makes sense. I'll look for the link for you.

This is interesting. What color are your bags? How do I know my color?
Somewhere I found a tutorial of the colour wheel, my skin is kind of sallow so I normally go for the yellow toned foundations anyway as opposed to pink. I did try the red but the yellow worked best on me. My bags are more purple. m.wikihow.com/Use-Color-Correcting-Concealers
