DS is almost 5 and has never asked for anything for xmas (or even responded with anything when we ask him or make suggestions) so I was super excited for him to visit Santa so that I could get some ideas.
Well, we visit Santa yesterday. Santa asks if he's been good, yadadadaa. Then--"so Jack, since you've been such a good boy, what would you like for Xmas this year?"
Jack: Furniture, please! Santa: hmmm, that's odd for a little boy. Any specific kind? Jack: Just furniture please! *huge smile* Santa: Well, ok then. How about a nice huge loft bed? Maybe a big desk and bookcase underneath it? Jack: Ooooooooooooooooh, ok.
My face was all:
WTF Santa?!?!? I have 10 days, and you suggest a damn LOFT BED! SANTA CAN'T BRING THAT BECAUSE JACK WILL ACTUALLY BE SLEEPING IN HIS BEDROOM WHEN YOU COME TO VISIT!
lol.
So, Jack and I talked about why he doesn't need a loft bed (he already has a queen sized bed he loves) but I need your help. Can you suggest any child-sized piece of furniture that would make a good Santa gift? He already has a bedroom suit, a small table and chairs in our living room where he colors, and an easel. Any help appreciated!
What the heck Santa?! LOL. I would do some fun furniture, like a play tent or beanbag chairs. DS has the B.Toys Teepee in his room and he uses it ever day. It has a light in the top that when you pull the pull cord it shines stars all over the inside of the tent.

Great idea. We already have that same teepee in his room, lol.

Dammit. Well at least we both have good taste? What about a tunnel?
Oooh, kershnic the anywhere chair could be good. he doesn't have anything like that. Is a 5 year old too big for that? I always assumed people bought them for 2-3 year olds.
I'd probably go with an anywhere chair, or a rocking chair.
I had an anywhere chair with an ottoman (not the same brand) growing up. Pretty sure I sat in that thing until I was 10 and my hips got to big to wedge in anymore. Loved that thing.

I'm not actually sure how big it is, so I'm not much help. I think most people on here do tend to buy it for 2-3 year olds, but it seems like something that 5-6 year olds would also enjoy.
I don't know if they still make them, but when I was in elementary school I had a chair in my room that unfolded into a "bed' type thing to put a sleeping bag on for sleep overs. It was a squishy chair when folded up. Something like that might work too!
oceanspray - I saw at least a few options that were Prime, which should indicate a quick delivery window. BUT that's an excellent call-out to make sure any online options show in-stock/quick shipping!

DD (5) has the 'full size' anywhere chair from PBK and still uses it daily. She's 41 inches and 35 lbs and has room to grow in it still.

The anywhere chair is pretty big. When we moved, I nursed my dd in it at night for a month until we got our furniture. It was not too small to sit in and I'm a size 8/10.
