I'm old. There's no avoiding it anymore. Please tell me there is someone else out there with a moustache. And PLEASE tell me the easiest way to deal with it. UUUGHHHHHH!!!!
Nope. Not alone. My upper lip hair grew in thicker and darker after I had kids. On occasion I have it waxed but most of the time I pluck the worst offenders and use this on the rest:
I get mine threaded. It does hurt but it takes 5 minutes max. No chemicals, no wax burns. I have used depilatories in the past, but stopped when I got pregnant.
Fortunately, my favorite threading lady just opened a salon, so I can just walk in and get it done, no more arranging an appointment and meeting place with her. She charges $4, so I give her $5.
Threading. It doesn't hurt as much as you'd think.
I also get mine threaded. This is 100000000x better than the bleaching I used to do in HS. Why did my mother think bleaching was the solution to our hairiness?
I'm lucky that I'm blonde, so it's not TOO noticeable, but it's definitely a lot thicker than it used to be. Definitely. And every now and then one or two hairs will be extra thick and dark and long. Ugh.
I mostly pluck the really bad ones, and then occasionally shave if I feel like they're getting unruly. I prefer waxing, I do that a few times a year when I get my hair cut.

I've given up. I've never been able to wax without looking like I've got a strange case of herpes for weeks after, and I stopped bleaching when I started getting pregnant. My mom said laser hair removal helped hers a little, but that really works better on dark, thick hair.
OMG those of you who shave. WHAT? Don't you get stubble?
I used to bleach. Now I wax. I love getting my eyebrows threaded but upper lip threading makes me break out like crazy. If I can't get to the waxer or I'm just feeling cheap, I use the at-home Sally Hanson strips. They work pretty well.

I wax. I went to a pro the first time. Now I diy. I always put hydrocortisone cream on right after and it seems to prevent the lip herpes look. I have very sensitive skin but so far it works for me.
Threading. I've been doing it since college (yay Italian genes) and that's the best. I usually get my brows done at the same time so my whole face looks red instead of just the 'stache.
Sally Hanson makes no-heat wax strips, that you warm up with your hands. They work great for my upper lip, my big toes, and occasionally my side burns. I don't think they are strong enough for legs, bikini area, etc, but for small areas they are perfect.
Mostly blonde so I ignore it until I can't anymore, then I get it waxed. When the lady doing my eyebrows asks "do you want me to do your upper lip too?" it means it's time to wax it.

I use an electric trimmer, but it does give me stubble. It's not bad on my mustache but is really noticeable on my chin hair because I have so much of it. Ugh. I tried plucking but found it hard to keep up. Waxing is great too but I don't want to let it grow long enough to wax.

I shave mine with those eyebrow razors like this: www.sallybeauty.com/Personna-Eyebrow-Shaper/SBS-730280,default,pd.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=SHO&cm_mmc=google-_-SHO-_-cpc-_-keyword&gclid=Cj0KEQiA7rmzBRDezri2r6bz1qYBEiQAg-YEto2I4dj4el7OTDz7P-Y887CPKQs3C12UrLFunPEUp68aAhmB8P8HAQ
Or, I used to have the battery operated version that someone else mentioned.
I don't have think regrowth or anything weird. Been doing this for decades.
