I had it really bad from weeks 8-10. I couldn't walk without crying. Ditto all the recommendations about keeping your legs together when getting dressed, in and out of the car, etc. Also don't use a shopping cart or push a stroller -- apparently leaning forward while walking is a big trigger. I sleep on my back in an adjustable bed, I'd recommend reclined positions as side lying is AWFUL. I also do adjustments and acu.
I went through it with both pg. With DS1, it started around week 35. With DS2, around week 20 . I wore one of those binders, and went to physio and chiro.
How did you know it was SPD vs regular pregnancy aches and pains? I had some soreness last time but this time it has been worse and started earlier. My doctor kind of brushed me off.
My pain was associated with very specific movements, typical of SPD - mostly anything related to moving one leg separate from the rest of my body (rolling over in bed, getting out of bed, getting in and out of the car, as well as laying on my side). Standing and regular walking did not cause much pelvic pain.
omg yes. Getting out of the car was probably one of the worst things. I still cringe thinking about it

ETA - my OB brushed it off as regular pregnancy pains too. It wasn't until I saw a chiropractor months later, in desperation, and she suggested it. I brought it up to the OB then, and she was like - "oh, yeah...."
This is exactly me, except I have it with walking too. I'm trying to reduce my stride and walk with my knees more together to limit the movement, but it's a work in progress. It does seem to help a bit, but I can definitely feel the pain the moment I stand up if I've been sitting for a while and that first step has me seeing fire.
Thanks for all of the advice and hair pats over it. It's so awful, and I don't know anyone IRL who has had it so it's been fun trying to explain that I'm not trying to be ridiculous but doing things that require lower body movement aren't high priorities in my life right now.
