I've realized lately that given the chance I don't think I would move back to my home area. I love the community but love the access to what our current location provides plus I'm making some great friends... It's hard for me to admit that, I always thought I would jump to move back home.

I just bought our AK tickets and made lunch reservations for Feb. I am still debating whether a character meal is worth it since we did one two years ago, but I figure we can always cancel reservations.
Also, I think I am getting a cold. Which sucks because I have my weekly girls night and a holiday party this week, plus I ridiculously agreed for DS to have a friend sleep over in Friday.

I got home from work at 4:30pm and my mom had just put DD down for a nap. Perfect, I thought, an evening cat nap before bedtime. It's 7pm now and she's still sleeping...
Day 1 of educational technology conference done. Great day where I learned a lot and got great idea but man it was long. Then I went straight to grad school. I love this current professor though. We had a potluck and ate and chatted for the first hour, then we had an on-topic discussion for about 30 minutes and then she let us out way early. YAY!
Tomorrow is day 2 of the conference so another early day and another day of driving into the city. Thank God I don't have that commute normally.
Got home tonight and DH tells me the furnace is broken. Crap. He's already called a company and they're coming out tomorrow to fix it. He can just work from home so that's good. It's also not that cold out and we have the fireplace going right now and that heats the house up well. So we're not cold tonight which is really good.

My sister came over tonight. She wanted help with a budget. She makes $9.50 as a manager working part time hours and is trying to live on her own. Hahaha
Her original plan this evening was to go get a smartphone on her own plan after our talk, because our "mean parents" didn't let her get one when she lived at home. They were really just waiting for a good deal on a phone since they usually pop-up around Christmas.
I hate watching her fritter away her money. Even after our talk she still seems somewhat unconcerned.
We went to the mall tonight to go see Santa but the line up was ridiculous and the kids were acting up a bit so we decided to leave and come back tomorrow morning when it's less busy. DS1 had a huge melt down and was crying and refusing to get back into his car seat. DS2 (age 2) starts asking loudly "Why is DS1 crying like a baby?? Why is he crying like a baby?" (asking like a serious question) It made us laugh, DS1 yells back "I'm not a baby, DS2 is a baby!" DS2 starts crying "I'm not a baby" then they both starting laughing and calling each other a baby. Brothers...

Pretty much since I asked about baby bedtimes last week, I've been able to put E down by 8ish. I start nursing/patting around 6:30/7 and she is sleeping by 8ish. It takes a few tries (except tonight- first try!!) for the RNP transfer to stick but she stays asleep in the bedroom by herself. It's been amazing to have a couple of hours back to myself at night to watch tv & get stuff done! We decorated the tree tonight and then we had frosted cookies and read the Polar Express with L. It was awesome. Tomorrow we go see Santa and I can't wait to see lane's reaction. It's at the gym and they have a photog taking pictures for everyone. I hope E does okay since its around her meltdown time.
8 mos in and we finally had our first disaster at the building. A pipe burst in one apartment and flooded another. Since we live in Mayberry it took a quick fb message to the owner of the hardware store two doors down and he came to open it so dh could get all of the parts for a fix. Now there's just the mess to clean up. Uggggh.
What is all the fuss about Star Wars? I have noticed things here and there and don't know why Star Wars is a topic of conversation so heavily right now. And taking up all of the dollar bin at Target

I have never watched a Star Wars movie in it entirety. I watched a small portion of one with H while wrapped gifts one year but didn't pay much attention.

I know I was gone for three days, but DH will not stop talking to me right now. Dude, post-kid bedtime is when we watch TV in companionable silence. Sshhh.
DD's daycare sheet usually lists something she enjoyed but today it said "we practiced gentle touches today." That's code for "your kid keeps hitting everyone", right?
We got something similar when DD pinched kids too. Good news is it only lasted a couple days!
