Depends on what the bribe is about, but so far we've had some success with it at just past 2. The bribe mostly works with watching Minnie Mouse or getting a piece of her advent chocolate, neither of which will probably work for staying in bed.
At 1.5 the ok to wake clock was all that was needed to get DD to stay in bed. By 2.5 I was promising mini marshmallows for staying in bed. It worked well.
Parenting has been rough lately. I'm one step away from wearing one of those little aprons that dog trainers and preschool teachers wear and stuffing out full of mini marshmallows.

Do you think I could transition to clicker training after the behaviour improves?

I mean I would like to think my kids are at least as smart as the dogs, so yes?
I started rewarding (sounds much better than bribing, thanks @tokenhoser!) around age 3. I reward for lots of stuff frankly.
While PTing: 1 m&m for pee, 3 for poop. At almost age 4, I'm still trying to get him on the big toilet with promises of mini Reese's PB cups. No dice.
If he STTN: gets TV at wake up & his choice of snack (usually something unhealthy like a mini muffin).
If he goes right to sleep at nap time (i.e., doesn't call me in while I'm putting DD down) and takes a long nap (i.e., doesn't pop back awake in 30 mins): he gets TV at wake up & his choice of snack (usually chooses fruit snacks).
