Can you record it and have your kid(s) watch it tomorrow?
Why should I have to do this, is kind of my point.
I get you. I rarely watch live tv because I like being able to skip the commercials. If I had kids this is probably how I'd do it anyway, but I agree the timing of the shows seems nonsensical.

We haven't watched any of the stuff on TV either because it's on too late. My kids are generally asleep by 8 so something that starts at 8 or 9 doesn't work. Luckily we have a ton of Christmas dvds because DH is a big kid.
Not only that, but the commercial placement is seriously screwed up. We recorded Home Alone for the kids but had to erase it because of all the graphic Walking Dead commercials. Like zombies being blown to pieces and chopped up. Ugh.

Irritating! Half the fun is getting to stay up *a little* late and watching it "live" with all the sweet Christmas commercials thrown in (for an old like me, I guess the youngsters don't really give a crap lol). We can get the DVD from the library and it's not the same (we are poor, no DVR here lol).

I figure they are doing me a favor, I don't have to sit through it and watch it. I record it and the kids can watch it another time when I have things to do!
I was just going to mention all of the commercials too. We are constantly grabbing the remote yelling "inappropriate". So frustrating.
We yell "EYE PATCH!" and our 7-year-old automatically covers her eyes. Sad she can't watch an NBA game with her dad without having to worry about a trailer for the next Saw movie.
