This bugs me because it makes it seems like this attitude is something only crazy fundies get into.
I've a whole blocked list on Facebook that proves that wrong. People who consider themselves "modern, progressive parents" who would find this funny.
wait, my comment bugs you or the picture?
I have no idea if this family is a crazy fundie family or not. I just wouldn't be surprised to find out they want total control from the get-go.
Your comment. Kinda in the same way people who are like "Trump is trolling Republicans!" bugs me. It creates the correlation when there really isn't one.
Cause, like I said, I know a lot of people who'd be like "Oh, it's just funny. Lighten up." who consider themselves to be progressive parents, including no corporal punishment.
You don't have to be a fundie to treat women badly or think in ways that denigrate them.
This is disgusting. I *might* be able to forgive it if it was just the tape over the mouths, but they're also TIED UP with Christmas lights. What the FUCK?
I totally missed that teh first time around. Holy shit.

I'm not defending this woman, but the recent photo-it looks like moms are in the back row. I am thinking the kids in the photo had parents who consented. Which actually makes it worse, because that means more people think this is fine. But, I don't think she taped kids' mouths without consent.
Still, I wouldn't want her teaching my kids. And if she asked for my kid to be in a photo like this, I would be pulling my kid to be homeschooled in a hot damn minute.
I read her comment to you as it bugs her that you just assume they are fundie. There are a lot of tone-deaf people who are anti-spanking, pro natural consequences, so just assuming they are fundie is odd b/c most likely they are just tone-deaf people like a lot of the nation.
That's what I thought too. As far as I was aware blanket training wasn't specifically a fondue thing. Feel free to correct me though.
Blanket training is from a specific book "How to Train up a Child" by Michael and Debbi Pearl. It's used by sorts like the Duggars and other extreme evangelicals. So, yeah, primarily Fundie parents.

I was aware of the method but not the source. thanks!

Twitterverse is reporting that Facebook took the picture and fauxtographer's page down. Not sure it was worthy of being taken down, but at least Facebook was on the right side of sexism for once.

The picture is gone but the photographer still has a FB page.

The whole page WAS taken down, but has since been reactivated.

And yet the aforementioned dog with its mouth taped shut? I (and I'm sure lots of other people) reported that photo and were told it didn't violate FB's community standards. Despite the fact that law enforcement later looked ino charging her with animal abuse. And animal abuse is something that you can report in photos on FB!

HILARIOUS.
Also, between my son, my SO, and my XH, every male in my life runs his goddamn gums all day long. I have literally no quiet. Your premise is false, idiots.
"This prick is asking for someone here to bring him to task Somebody give me some dirt on this vacuous mass so we can at last unmask him I'll pull the trigger on it, someone load the gun and cock it While we were all watching, he got Washington in his pocket."
