How is BFing going overall? Pretty well, but I think our days our numbered since my supply seems to be dipping and I'm burning out of pumping.
Are you EBF, combo feeding, started solids? How often does baby nurse? Part nursing/breastmilk, part formula, part solids. DS nurses 5-6x per day. He also eats 2-3 meals of oatmeal and purees.
How long do you hope to breastfed for? My goal was 6 months, so we made it. At this point we'll just see how it goes. I'm so over pumping so I've already dropped a pumping session, but as a result it seems as though my supply has dropped throughout the day - DS even woke up early and I suspect it was because his evening meal was a little smaller than usual. At this point I'm sending 1 bottle of fresh breastmilk, 1 bottle of frozen breastmilk (from my quickly dwindling stash), and 1 bottle of formula to daycare.
Anything else you want to share? Questions or concerns?
How old is your baby/toddler? Just turned one, earlier this month.
How is BFing going overall? Wonderful, which I never would have imagined back in the beginning.
Are you EBF, combo feeding, started solids? How often does baby nurse? He was EBF, but has been eating solids since 5 months or so.
How long do you hope to breastfed for? At least through Spring.
Anything else you want to share? Questions or concerns? The first two months were so very hard, both mentally and physically, but I'm glad we stuck with it because it's become one of my favorite things about being a mother. Not having my period since February 2013 has also been a nice bonus.
How is BFing going overall? Not great, we started combo feeding around 7 months and after norovirus, my supply tanked badly. I stopped pumping about a month ago (which I hated, oh god I hated pumping) and she does just fine on formula.
Are you EBF, combo feeding, started solids? How often does baby nurse? She nurses once a day in the morning, and I can tell it's not quite enough anymore. We'll wean after our trip to Florida so I can nurse on the plane if needed. She just kinda lost interest. She eats solids 3 meals a day plus a snack at daycare.
How long do you hope to breastfed for? A few more weeks and I'll be done. I'm sad I didn't make it a year of EBF/Pumping, but alas.
Anything else you want to share? Questions or concerns? I am hoping when I wean I'll start to drop more weight!
How is BFing going overall? Pretty good! I never thought I would be able to do this, let alone for this long.
Are you EBF, combo feeding, started solids? How often does baby nurse? Mostly breastmilk but formula for supplementation here and there if she needs it or I'm out of the house. She nurses in the morning before daycare and then 3-5 times before bed (after daycare). She's STTN about 60% of the time and if she's up it's to eat once or twice max. I'll start her on solids at 6 months.
How long do you hope to breastfed for? Well, my first goal was two weeks, so I've made it way further than that! Six months was a longer-term goal and we're almost there. I think I'll keep going until I can't keep up the MPSI diet or pumping is too much. I'm getting burned out on pumping at work.
Anything else you want to share? Questions or concerns? I also hope to lose some of the extra weight when I wean. I also am looking forward to eating normal food again.
For those with older babies that only nurse a couple of times a day, do you pump as well? Or does your body adjust so you don't get engorged during the day?
I stopped pumping when DD turned one (she can't have breastmilk in the toddler room so there didn't seem to be a point to continuing). I'm off Fridays, so sometimes I get really uncomfortable on Mondays after I've been home with her for three days in a row, but mostly my body has adjusted to nursing more some days than others.

-3 months on Friday -good again.. I can't believe we've been so lucky twice now -EBF, we won't start solids until she is 6ish months- BLW again. Right now she nurses every 2-3 hours during the day and at night has a 5-6 hour stretch and then 3-4 -hope to nurse for at least a year again. My plan last time was 2 years, but then I got pregnant and lost my supply at 14 months/15 weeks. Hopefully I can nurse her as long as she wants
How is BFing going overall? Super well. It has been a full year since we had DS's ties revised.
Are you EBF, combo feeding, started solids? How often does baby nurse? DS eats lots and lots of food. He nurses 1-2x/day, a little more when hardcore teething.
How long do you hope to breastfed for? No idea. I thought DS might have lost interest by now based on his personality, but nursing is a nice way to get in a snuggle with an otherwise very active and independent toddler.
Anything else you want to share? Questions or concerns? I'm still amazed we've made it this far given all the issues we had at the beginning. The only thing that kept me going early on was knowing how awesome nursing with DD was and how much I wanted that to be the case with DS.
How is BFing going overall? Overall good. It's been a lot better the last 2 months - DD learned to drop the nipple shield around 3 months, and we had her upper lip and tongue tie corrected at the beginning of November which improved her latch greatly. My issues now are reoccurring milk blisters/blebs, which are sometimes with a plugged duct and sometimes seemingly on their own. But I have to keep opening up my nipple pores and it's not fun.
Are you EBF, combo feeding, started solids? How often does baby nurse? DD started solids (purees) right after Thanksgiving and she is doing really well with that. Otherwise just BFing, and she's taking a bottle with pumped milk from DH, the babysitter and MIL very well. DH tried giving her a combo bottle with formula when I was gone 2 days for work and he was down to the last 4 oz of milk, she refused it. Luckily I was back just as he ran out.
Eta: she feeds every 3 hours during the day, but before bed 5-7pm she nurses a lot, once or twice during the night but she doesn't always go for or need both sides, and then a lot first thing in the morning. She gets probably 8-10 oz in the morning, and 6-8 before bed. During the day about 3 oz at a time.
How long do you hope to breastfed for? My first goal was 6 months, and as we are nearing that I know we're not ready to quit yet. I think my new goal will be 9 months with hopes of making it to 1 year, but it will depend on my work schedule. I don't get as much milk pumping and I also don't think I could do it long term for my own sanity, so if we need to switch or supplement later I'm OK with that.
Anything else you want to share? Questions or concerns?
How is BFing going overall? Pretty great, but she's been getting 3-4 new teeth FOREVER and is being bite-y.
How often does baby nurse? Usually 3x day. (Wake up, before nap, before bed, maybe once MOTN) She has not been very interested in wake up nursing for about a week. Not sure if it's her teeth or what.
How long do you hope to breastfed for? I'm willing to go to two, but am taking her lead here and I think she'll wean before that.
Anything else you want to share? I'm a bit emotional about weaning possibly happening soonish. Between my two kids, I have been pregnant and/or breastfeeding since October 2012. I've really enjoyed nursing my kids and it feels weird to see an end and think about having my body back!
Questions or concerns? My concern is the biting. ARG
How old is your baby/toddler? One month, yesterday
How is BFing going overall? Great! So much easier this time around. Though definitely feeling pretty tied down. Last time, we were already supplementing. So I'd come and go occasionally and use formula. I haven't managed to pump much extra, so DD and I are always a package deal, running errands together or going to an event together. But I'm feeling proud that I've made it the month EBF. Last time, I felt like my body had failed me, so I'm glad it's working better this time.
Are you EBF, combo feeding, started solids? How often does baby nurse? EBF, eating every 1.5-2 hours when awake, every 4-5 overnight. She STTN a few times in the beginning, but not in about 2 weeks.
How long do you hope to breastfeed for? I hope to make it a year, but expect that I'll need to supplement when I get back to work. I just never have been able to match was DS would eat.

I'm super new to the breastfeeding thing! How old is your baby/toddler? 10 days old
How is BFing going overall? Well the engorgement has leveled off Are you EBF, combo feeding, started solids? How often does baby nurse? EBF
How long do you hope to breastfed for? 1 year
Anything else you want to share? Questions or concerns? I have the spectra s 2 and for some reason it intimidates me. I know it's early to pump but plan to start in a few weeks. I'm worried because I'm taking an extended leave and won't go back to work until August and I want to make sure she can take a bottle. BFing is going well. We're still using the shield (shallow latch), but I haven't been working really hard on getting rid of it. My supply is fine; we'll work on it. I'd rather not use it, but the spasms were horrible without it, so it's worth the hassle.
I'm EBFing and he's starting to be interested in food, so we'll start some experimenting probably around February. My two older kids went to table food pretty quickly; they started on cereal (mixed with BM) between 4-5 months, purees by 6, and 'real' food by 9-10. I see a similar pattern emerging.
As long as he's willing. I'm 40 with two teenagers and an infant. Let's face it - this is probably my end game.
ETA: during the day, he nurses every 2-3 hours. At night, he sometimes sleeps through. Since his last growth spurt he's occasionally gotten up once around 2-ish. Normally he's in bed by 9, dream feed 5:30, and he'll sleep until 8 or 8:30.
How is BFing going overall? I haven't BFed with 2 exceptions in about 3 weeks. BFing wasn't working - DS2 was screaming and up every 2 hours before we started bottle feeding.
Are you EBF, combo feeding, started solids? How often does baby nurse? DS eats about every 3 hours now, except overnight he can last 4-6 hours (generally 5) for the first stretch.
How long do you hope to breastfed for? I was really hoping to make it a year this time, but since I'm EPing my current goal is 4 months, stretch is 6.
Anything else you want to share? Questions or concerns? Anyone successfully re-introduce BFing after pumping? (CloudBee maybe?)

How old is your baby/toddler? 6mo
How is BFing going overall? Pretty well. He is huge and eats a good amount, but I've been able to mostly keep up. I've been back to work 2 mo now and trying to pump 3x - it's a time suck.
Are you EBF, combo feeding, started solids? How often does baby nurse? Started solids last week and going really well.
How long do you hope to breastfed for? I think my supply is starting to taper off. I don't know that I will make it a year, esp pumping. I'm also ready to have my body back.
Anything else you want to share? Questions or concerns?
Are you EBF, combo feeding, started solids? How often does baby nurse? We are at 2-3 times a day Am, pm and occasionally nap but DH has been doing that lately
How long do you hope to breastfed for? Until he self weans.
Anything else you want to share? I am 18 weeks pregnant and he really isn't getting much milk at this point. I think I could easily wean him now if I wanted too but I really want to wait for him to be done on his own and I still enjoy it. I'm just wondering if he weans later in my pregnancy, if it will cause jealousy issues when the new baby comes. I am open to tandem nursing if we make it to that point but just nursing the newborn sounds appealing too. Questions or concerns?
How is BFing going overall? Great. He's a good, efficient eater.
Are you EBF, combo feeding, started solids? How often does baby nurse? EBF and have started solids. He nurses every 2ish hours, then once or twice during the night.
He has no interest in purees so we're doing BLW.
How long do you hope to breastfed for? At least a year, but I don't think we'll stop then.
Anything else you want to share? Questions or concerns? I really wish he'd sleep through the night. He's waking at least once, usually twice, between bedtime and wake (6pm to 6am). He's STTN a couple times and it's such a tease.
Are you EBF, combo feeding, started solids? How often does baby nurse? She eats solids very well and drinks WCM ok. She prefers breast milk or water over WCM. I think she is currently getting around 15 oz of breast milk per day.
I pump in the morning once before work and breastfeed before bed. I honestly only pump because I think my supply would tank without it and I do not want to breastfeed in the morning to keep it going. I have made pumping my time and it is working for us.
How long do you hope to breastfed for? My initial goal was until the end of maternity leave (3 months). Then 6 months seemed like a good goal. Then 12. If we make it through cold/flu season that would be awesome. If she weans tomorrow that is ok. I only still do it because she seems to want the comfort before bed.
Anything else you want to share? Questions or concerns? Has anyone else pumped past 12 months? Is there any reason not to? Everyone I know quits breastfeeding right around 12 months. People think I'm crazy to still pump.
Are you EBF, combo feeding, started solids? How often does baby nurse? 3-4 times a day (depending on if she wakes to eat MOTN).
How long do you hope to breastfed for? Who knows. I originally planned to be weaned by March so I wouldn't have to pump when we take our belated honeymoon, but that's coming up fast and I don't know if I will want to be done that soon or not.
Anything else you want to share? Questions or concerns? Not that she really does anymore, but I'm not sure I'd be comfortable NIP anymore...and I feel kind of bad that I feel that way, because I know there's nothing wrong with it.
Are you EBF, combo feeding, started solids? How often does baby nurse?
How long do you hope to breastfed for?
Anything else you want to share? Questions or concerns?
22 month old twins.
Mixed feelings about BFing... I like that they like it, but I don't like the tantrums when I say no or when I don't have the supply they want. Also don't like the family conflict that it causes.
Most days it's 3x - morning, getting home from work, bedtime. Weekends it depends on what we're doing, sometimes the same, sometimes a little more. And 1-2 days a week I get home from work later and there's only one in the evening.
I really don't know right now... I wanted quitting to be babyled, but between my variable supply lately and some of the conflict it causes I might quit around 2... I'm afraid weaning is going to be a shitshow of tantrums though because Squishy really loves it.
How old is your baby/toddler? She'll be 16 months next week
How is BFing going overall? Great! We've been fortunate to have had a great bf'ing relationship. We never needed to supplement, and I've never had a single plug or clog.
Are you EBF, combo feeding, started solids? How often does baby nurse? I EBF until solids, but now DD eats breakfast, lunch, dinner, and two snacks. We just cut out the before bed nursing session, but still nursing at wake up for now. She refuses to drink whole milk now, but I guess that's ok.
How long do you hope to breastfed for? I want(ed) to be done in the new year, but now I'm having second thoughts. H and I are all off between Christmas and New Years so I would have his help getting her up and distracting her. I'll have to see how it goes I guess.
Anything else you want to share? Questions or concerns? I initially cut the before bed session because I still hadn't had a pp period at 15 months and H and I are ready to TTC soon. Within a week of me cutting that session (and dropping to 1x/day) I got my period back (last week) so now I'm not in as big of a rush to wean.
This is us as well. I told DH all I want for Christmas is to night wean DD. DH works nights so it is rare that he would be home to help with the MOTN wake ups.
How old is your baby/toddler? 13 months
How is BFing going overall? Good. DD is beginning to self wean. She is less and less interested in bottles. 4 months ago I would have been really upset about that idea but now I'm open to it.
Are you EBF, combo feeding, started solids? How often does baby nurse? DD has been eating solids since 6 months. She loves food especially meat and drinks a lot of water. She gets 2 bottles a day of half BM & half WCM. Nurses at bedtime and MOTN.
How long do you hope to breastfed for? Originally, my goal was 1 year and we met that despite my supply dropping steadily since 8 months (pp period and getting sick). My new goal is to try to get through the cold and flu season if we can. I dropped from 3 down to 2 pump sessions at work and one in the morning before work. It's getting to the point where my output during the day just isn't justifying the time and effort. I think I'll go down to one session during the day soon.
After we hit 5 months, it's gone really well. I haven't had any painful plugs in ages. I'm currently at 4 pums per day, will go to 3 this weekend and hope to be at 2 for a business trip I am taking on 1/18 (though I can make it work if I'm not)
My supply has been great the whole time except at the very beginning when I had mastitis. We stopped supplementing with formula when he was a week old. As I'm cutting pumps my supply will drop significantly, but I have a freezer full of milk.
DS eats a ton of real food and about half as much milk. He likes most flavors and is getting the hang of eating with his hands. Cheerios and black beans are favorited to get in his mouth. And scrambled eggs. He went to town on those! We've tried most alergens so far except peanuts and fish/seafood. The only food allergy anyone in our family has is my mom with a shrimp allergy.
I am planning to be done pumping around his 1st birthday in mid-February. We'll still give him frozen breastmilk as long as it lasts/he wants it.
BFing is going really well for us. I genuinely expected to try but be unsuccessful, so this has been a pleasant surprise. I have been going to the biweekly BFing support group (led by an LC) at the hospital where I delivered, and I am the woman everyone hates. I never had any cracking or bleeding, my milk came in promptly, she latched well and nursed well right away, etc.
I'm EBF for now. She has been gaining > 1 oz/day, so I'm feeding on demand rather than on a schedule. It's usually every 2-4 hours on average. I also pump 1-3x/day to build a freezer stash, and so Calvin can give her a bottle once a day. She is great with taking bottles of BM, although at first we had to work through some gas issues with air intake.
I don't really have a time goal, since I've already exceeded my expectations. We'll see how my return to work goes. I'm happy to continue BFing as long is it works for our family.
My one big frustration is that BFing brings with it so much more work that Calvin could do but doesn't -- if I'm doing a feeding, I get stuck also doing the associated "in the nursery" activities - the diaper change, and the soothing, and the putting back down to nap after... Which take way more time than feeding and have no Imperative that I be the one to do them. I need to figure out how to "share" some of that more.
