How is BFing going overall? Very well! She took to nursing right away and has had no issues. She's very adept at NIP which I'm grateful for. Her "distracted nursing" stage hasn't been too bad so far.
Are you EBF, combo feeding, started solids? She nurses 5-7 times a day plus solids 2-3x a day. She generally nurses every 2-3 hours.
How long do you hope to breastfed for? Hopefully until age 2. I'm open to nursing longer. She's my last baby, so I'm happy to let her nurse as long as she wants.
Anything else you want to share? She's biting me intermittently, which gives me flashbacks to DS's biting stage at 10m old which lasted THREE WEEKS. I'm praying that doesn't happen!
He's been combo fed the whole time, but he's less and less interested in nursing/bottles and more interested in food, so I think we're nearing the end of our journey.
I dropped to one pumping session last week. My office is closed 12/24-1/4, and I decided I'm not going to pump anymore when we get back.
I'll aim to nurse him until his first birthday (1/29), and maybe just a bit longer. But not until 23 months like I did with L. We're going to decide on TTC #3 in the next few months, and if we go for it, I really should lose some weight first, which I simply can't do while nursing.
How is BFing going overall? Pretty well, although I'm starting to feel ready to be done. Also DD is teething and she never latches quite right when teething which makes it uncomfortable.
Are you EBF, combo feeding, started solids? How often does baby nurse? Nurses 2x/day on days I work, 4x on days I'm home. Eating solids too of course, plus drinking WCM.
How long do you hope to breastfed for? We're going on a trip this week, and I plan to start weaning when we get back, which I'm guessing will take 3-4 weeks. I think we're both ready. And DH and I plan to start TTC in the spring, and I want a break between weaning and getting pregnant again.
Anything else you want to share? Questions or concerns?
How is BFing going overall? Better this past week (we survived a 3 week biting stretch and now back to normal)
Are you EBF, combo feeding, started solids? How often does baby nurse? 4x/day. He also eats breakfast, lunch, dinner, and PM snack
How long do you hope to breastfed for? Taking it day by day but likely weaning in the next 1-3 months. One year was my goal. Not ready to be done but we are TTC and RE would like me weaned before conception.
Anything else you want to share? Questions or concerns?
How is BFing going overall? I was actually going to make a separate post about this today, but I think we might be done? She has only nursed a handful of times in the last week. She asks but then when I offer the boob she only nurses for a few seconds. This weekend she didn't ask at all, so I didn't offer. I'm both relieved (was sort of dreading addressing the whole tandem nursing thing) and sad.
Are you EBF, combo feeding, started solids? How often does baby nurse? We were/are down to just nap time and bedtime.
How long do you hope to breastfed for? I was open to going as long as she was into it, but am fine with stopping now if she's ready.
Anything else you want to share? Questions or concerns? How do I know when we're done? If she asks again, should I comply or just say no?
How is BFing going overall? It is ok. I'm still kind of hate it. Getting fewer plugs, but something pretty much always hurts. She's doing something so that it hurts to nurse on the left side. It is very painful and now I think I have a plug there. Although it feels different, a sharp pain in my chest but the breast isn't hard. I don't know. I just pop a lot of Advil and hope it works itself out.
Are you EBF, combo feeding, started solids? How often does baby nurse? Still EBFing. I need to start getting out more, so I think this weekend I'm going to pump a feeding and have H give her a bottle. She hasn't had a bottle in months so I hope she takes it ok. We started solids and she loves them, so that's good. She's having 2 puree meals and BFs 5x a day which is way better than the 7-8x per day before we started solids.
How long do you hope to breastfed for? I'm hoping to make it 1 year but honestly, I'm proud and happy we've made it this far considering the issues I've had.
Anything else you want to share? Questions or concerns? Thx everyone for all the support and letting me vent here. I feel like I'm in the minority because I don't like BFing and I complain about it a lot. Without this forum to vent in, I'm not sure what I would have done. You guys have been very good for my mental health.

Anything else you want to share? Questions or concerns?
5 months
Great!
EBF now. We supplemented with formula in the first 6-8 weeks, but I now have an oversupply so no need! I have a crap ton of formula samples that I may need to unload. No solids yet, but I plan to offer throughout the holidays and start them after the new year.
He nurses about every 1.5-2.5 hours during the day when we're together. 2-4 oz BM in the bottle every 2 hours when we're not.
Now that I've almost made it 6 months with no signs of stopping, I'm hoping to go at least a year. At that point, I definitely plan to wean from the pump and hope to nurse just morning and night. I'll definitely need to wean completely before DH and I go back to the RE for #2.
I'm just so grateful for this board. Even though I work directly with 2 LCs, there are things I learn from yall that even they don't know.
My only concern right now is trying to make my milk fattier without increasing overall volume. I took a picture of a full day's pumps after the milk had separated. My LCs said it seemed thin, and to eat more oatmeal.
How is BFing going overall? Pretty good. I feel like we have good system going now.
Are you EBF, combo feeding, started solids? How often does baby nurse? I BF when we're at home and typically pump and take a bottle when we go out. It's just easier to bottle feed while we are out and about. He nurses every 2-3 hours on average.
How long do you hope to breastfed for? I'd like to go at least until he's 1 if I can.
Anything else you want to share? Questions or concerns? Random, but is it normal for cold weather to make my boobs hurt now? For real, when I go outside my boobs are sore from the cold. So weird.
How old is your baby/toddler? She'll be 16 months next week
How is BFing going overall? Great! We've been fortunate to have had a great bf'ing relationship. We never needed to supplement, and I've never had a single plug or clog.
Are you EBF, combo feeding, started solids? How often does baby nurse? I EBF until solids, but now DD eats breakfast, lunch, dinner, and two snacks. We just cut out the before bed nursing session, but still nursing at wake up for now. She refuses to drink whole milk now, but I guess that's ok.
How long do you hope to breastfed for? I want(ed) to be done in the new year, but now I'm having second thoughts. H and I are all off between Christmas and New Years so I would have his help getting her up and distracting her. I'll have to see how it goes I guess.
Anything else you want to share? Questions or concerns? I initially cut the before bed session because I still hadn't had a pp period at 15 months and H and I are ready to TTC soon. Within a week of me cutting that session (and dropping to 1x/day) I got my period back (last week) so now I'm not in as big of a rush to wean.
How is BFing going overall? It's going great. I was worried during my pregnancy that it wouldn't go well or that I'd hate it, but I actually love it.
Are you EBF, combo feeding, started solids? How often does baby nurse? I'm Breastfeeding and pumping, since I went back to work last week. She bf when she wakes up around 6 am, then she takes a bottle around 10am, I go home at lunch and breastfeed, another bottle around 4pm, and then bf on demand until bedtime (around 8pm).
How long do you hope to breastfed for? As long as she wants or as long as my supply allows. I'll be happy to make it to 6 months.
Anything else you want to share? Questions or concerns?
How is BFing going overall? over it lol. i'm pretty sure i've all but completely dried up in the last few weeks, but she literally gives no fucks. it's about the nipple, not the milk.
Are you EBF, combo feeding, started solids? How often does baby nurse? before nap and bed. occasionally other random times when she is upset.
This is us. It's not about drinking, it's about sucking. I rarely hear her swallow anymore. I'm done nursing but she isn't so whatever. I'll KOKO. She just uses me for a pacifier basically.
Thanks for posting this @supergreen , I was thinking aobut this today!!
How old is your baby/toddler? 11 months tomorrow!
How is BFing going overall? Great, we're still going. My freezer stash is quickly depleting, which I wasn't expecting, I had tons in the fridge (or so I thought) but we're down now to my last bags, I have maybe 50 ounces left. I was hoping to donate something but I guess not. We'll use every last bit to get her to 12 months.
Are you EBF, combo feeding, started solids? How often does baby nurse? EBF/pumping/loads of solids. She nurses about 4 maybe 5 times a day now. We've completely dropped MOTN sessions (around 10 months for that) and that has really helped her sleep, she's mostly STTN and if she does wake up she cries for a few minutes and then goes back to sleep.
How long do you hope to breastfed for? 12 months for sure, then I plan to light my pump on fire, introduce cows milk and maybe nurse only morning/night to get her through the winter, then wean her. I hope to be done completely by about 15 months, we plan to TTC again this summer (we have to do IVF and my doc wants me to wean her fully before we start). And I want some time to lose the rest of this weight beforehand. I'm hoping that magic "I lost 5 lbs when I weaned" comes true for me.
Anything else you want to share? Questions or concerns? If any second time moms have weaning advice, I'd love to hear it!

Ds2 is 2.5 weeks old. It is going really well. Once My nipples healed from the damage he did with his shallow latch the first few days it has been realtively pain free. I still have to unlatch and relatch sometimes but overall much better than even a week ago. He nurses for 5-10 minutes a side and is gaining weight like crazy. Seems like I have plenty of milk and we are past that awful initial engorgement phase.
EBF, he nurses every 2-3 hours during the day and then 3-4 overnight.
I plan on breastfeeding until at least a year. I bfd ds1 until 16 months.
I am surprised at how different this time around is. Ds1 nursed forever 45-60 min a session for the first few months which made motn feedings so long. I can do a feeding and diaper change in about 30 min this time around which is just awesome! I dont know if i have more milk or he is a more efficient nurser or what but i will take it.

My dd is 3 years, 7 months She nurses first thing in the morning and at nap time. I'm ready to wean. She says she's nursing until she's 5. Lol! No. I breastfed my first until he was 2 1/2 and my goal for her was 2.

How old is your baby/toddler? She's 3.5 months, will be 4 months on the 26th.
How is BFing going overall? Pretty well. No real complaints on the baby end. More on my end. I hate how huge my nursing boobs are (32J/K) and it's annoying trying to dress for east nursing access.
Are you EBF, combo feeding, started solids? How often does baby nurse? I would say 90%+ breastfed/breastmilk. She gets 3 bottles a day, 3 days a week when I work. She takes bottles fine (yay!) and generally they are all BM, but sometimes there is some formula in there as well. No solids yet.
How long do you hope to breastfed for? I don't know. Probably not longer than 6 months. I've never been a long term breastfeder (6mo and 4mo for the boys) and just need my body back to myself after a while. But I'm just going with the flow for now.
How old is your baby/toddler? 1 year next week! How is BFing going overall? We were extremely lucky that BFing was easy for us both. But I am so over it. DS not so much; should be interesting to wean him.
Are you EBF, combo feeding, started solids? How often does baby nurse? He's on solids and WCM. He nurses morning and night. I allow him to nurse one other time during the day although he asks to nurse constantly. He was down to one bottle at daycare, except I totally forgot to send one today so he's going cold turkey. MOTY.
How long do you hope to breastfed for? Not much longer. I'm done pumping. I have two week-long work trips in January, I am not taking a pump with me. DS can use up the rest of my freezer stash and then that's it.
Anything else you want to share? Questions or concerns? When do you think I should buy new bras? I'm so excited to ditch my two Bravados. And if you've weaned a child before, how did you handle bedtime? I'm thinking I may make my H suffer through a week of solo bedtime, no nursing, no bottle.
zarapipe and @stilljustash you are scaring me! I don't want to be a human pacifier
How is BFing going overall? really well. We had a few problems initially (severe tongue tie that required two revisions), but going really well now.
Are you EBF, combo feeding, started solids? How often does baby nurse? EBF. DS is eating 6-8 times a day. He's a giant baby (over 16 lbs already) and I'm having no problem keeping up with him. I am pumping while at work and i consistently pump more than he takes in a bottle. We will see how long that lasts.
How long do you hope to breastfed for? Hoping to hit at least 12 months. Will probably go beyond 12 months for bedtime feeding, but we will see what DS needs/wants.
How is BFing going overall? It's ok. I don't love it, and I have a lot of anxiety over my supply and if he's getting enough. We haven't had to supplement, I have a huge freezer stash, and he's gaining well, so I don't know why I worry so much.
Are you EBF, combo feeding, started solids? How often does baby nurse? He nurses 5x a day, about every 3 hours. We started solids a week ago. So far he's had oatmeal, sweet potatoes, and peas. He loved sweet potatoes and made faces at the peas, but still ate them.
How long do you hope to breastfed for? My goal is 1 year. I'm going back to work at the end of August and would like to be completely done by then. Plus we may start TTC in the fall, so I'd like my body back for a bit before then!

How old is your baby/toddler? Almost 14 months
How is BFing going overall? Excellent
Are you EBF, combo feeding, started solids? How often does baby nurse? Nursing between three and four times per day just night weaned. Three meals plus a snack. He spits out milk, will not drink milk.
How long do you hope to breastfed for? 18 months, we are going away without kids for Memorial Day weekend so I'd like to wean in early May.
Anything else you want to share? Questions or concerns?
We need to figure out about potential kid number three as I still haven't had a period and that will impact weaning. With DS1 I had to drop to two sessions to get my period, but DS2 refuses milk and is a bottle refuser....

DS turned 2 yesterday! I had set 2 in my mind as how long I'd be interested in nursing, and I was right. I have him weaned down to naps and night. We are traveling until the 31st, and I plan to knock out those final nursing sessions (which are going to be tough) after the new year. It's going to be tough, but it's definitely time, from my perspective at least. I'm a little sad about it, but we had a good run!
Very well. Our biggest issue has been the BF is going so well she wouldn't take a bottle but she seems to have the hang of it now.
Are you EBF, combo feeding, started solids? How often does baby nurse?
She only has breastmilk but she eats from the bottle when I'm at work. Is that considered EBF or combo?
She nurses every 2.5-3 hours. 7-8 times per day when I'm home. 3-4 during the week.
How long do you hope to breastfed for? At least a year, longer if it's still working for us
Anything else you want to share? Questions or concerns?
Not looking forward to the shade that will be thrown my way over the holiday for a) not starting solids, b) not adding rice cereal to a bottle to get her to STTN (old people REALLY want to impart this little piece of advice), c) wanting to continue BF after she has teeth. I'm continually amazed and how many people want to talk to me about breastfeeding and then tell me I should stop when she has teeth.

I consider that EBF.
and I've already gotten shade for not starting solids from my parents, and even my younger sister. they all seem to think that adding cereal to his bottles will help him sleep longer. nope.
2. It's going well. He nurses quickly and efficiently and is satisfied. It's easy.
3. EBF.
4. A few years. We'll see how it goes. I BF DS1 for 3.25 years and DS2 for almost 2, so a pretty big difference. I will let him decide when to wean, barring anything unforeseen.
How is BFing going overall? It's ok. I don't love it, and I have a lot of anxiety over my supply and if he's getting enough. We haven't had to supplement, I have a huge freezer stash, and he's gaining well, so I don't know why I worry so much.
This was me at 6 months. I will say that I was able to relax a little once he really upped his solids intake around 9 months. Breastfeeding definitely made me crazy at times.
How is BFing going overall? Going good! She went on a random nursing strike for 2 days a couple of weeks ago and I thought she had self-weaned. I definitely wasn't ready and was really hoping to keep nursing at least through cold/flu season this year. I kept offering and after day 2 she came back and we are still going strong.
Are you EBF, combo feeding, started solids? How often does baby nurse? She eats table foods and drinks cow milk during meals. She nurses first thing in the morning, around 6 pm and at bed if I'm home.
How long do you hope to breastfed for? I don't have a specific end date. At least 2 years? I definitely hope to keep nursing through the winter.
Anything else you want to share? Questions or concerns? If my MIL makes one more flipping comment about how"awkward" it would be to nurse a toddler I'm going to lose my shit. She was SO supportive of me BFing when DD was a baby, but now that she's a toddler she doesn't agree or approve and is constantly making snide comments about another woman we know who nursed her DD until she was around 3.5. I always respond with over the top approval and encouragement about BFing that long, even though I don't really have any desire to do so LOL.
How is BFing going overall? Well. I'm so relieved.
Are you EBF, combo feeding, started solids? How often does baby nurse? EBF. She eats every 2-3 hours still, though she's beginning to stretch it out more.
How long do you hope to breastfed for? My original goal was 6 months. I will reevaluate then.
Anything else you want to share? Questions or concerns?
How do you make sure you drink enough water? I am starting to fall behind.
For those with older babies that only nurse a couple of times a day, do you pump as well? Or does your body adjust so you don't get engorged during the day?
