Congrats on the promotion!! Just a note re: STD because it's so confusing: your job/policy probably covers up to 12 weeks for a qualifying event, but recovering from birth will only be 6-8 weeks depending on vaginal or c-section delivery. (That is, you are only paid for the time you are medically "disabled").
I actually asked about this when I was hired and was told it was 12 weeks. We're headquartered in CA and HR made it sound like that had something to do with it? IDK. Luckily we'll be okay even if it is 6-8. PLUS I'm still trying to finagle my way into H being the one to take leave. lol

I'm in CA and have taken 6 weeks of disability pay and then there is another 6 weeks called "paid family leave" that you can take anytime after the first year after birth.
