AND, to bring things full circle, my current job has 12 weeks STD (paid at 66% of my salary) that I don't pay anything toward.
And they offer 12 weeks paid at 100% after three years of employment (that luckily/hopefully I will never have to use after next summer lol).
Yay, congrats! I'm glad this company made good on its promise (and that you, obviously, kicked ass too).
I've made peace with the fact that I'm at my current company until after the next kid. I get 8 weeks (or 10 weeks if c/s) at 100% pay, up to 24 weeks off if I want it (unpaid after PTO runs out), and can take a year's leave of absence if I'm struggling with going back. Obviously my job isn't guaranteed after FMLA is up, but the company hasn't fucked anyone over, that I know about at least. I know my salary isn't the greatest since I've been here so long, but the ML perks are too good to pass up by American standards.
