I don't know how many recall the backstory but we had guardianship of my granddaughter for her first five years. When we moved here my daughter regained custody due to more lax state laws. She's been having issues and both her daughters were placed with us by CPS the beginning of last school year through Christmas break. My daughter is still having issues and her older daughter, the one who lived with us, told her she wanted to move back in with us...
AND SHE AGREED!!!
Kiddo moved back in with us last Wednesday and we signed her up for school today. CPS is making the placement permanent the first of next month. They suggested third-party custody or adoption and daughter is agreeing to whatever we want to do to make it a permanent arrangement for her. She loves her but she can't take care of two kids so the one we had for all those years is in our care again.
My husband is ecstatic, over the moon, and whatever other turn of descriptive phrase is relevant.
Now to figure how to get her to school and back while I'm in Vegas. Hmmmm.
