Tomorrow is my 28 week appointment (delayed so I could do it over winter break) and my clinic does a free 3D ultrasound during the appointment. I'm so excited to see what DS looks like! I really hope we get some good pictures of his face since this time I don't have a complete anterior placenta like I did with DD. If the rest of my pregnancy goes well this will be my last time seeing him before he's born.

I'm getting a cold, boo.
I've been sleep training DD this week since I'm home from work and the boys don't have school. It sucks. She's been gping down for naps really easily, but only taking 45 min cat naps in her crib vs. at least one long nap a day in her swing swaddled.
But she seems to have found her thumb and I'll be thrilled if she really gets the hang of it. DS1 was a thumb sucker and was the best sleeper after 4 months.
I've already spent so much on DD's party and haven't even bought the cake (only ordered it) or food yet. With favors for the kids, balloons and decorations, crafts for kids to do at the party, and paper products I'm somehow up to $140!
It's only family and then 2 of DD's best friends too!! Maybe next year DH will listen when I say it really is cheaper to have it somewhere besides our house and just pay for the play space and then buy pizza and cake for everyone.
I'm going to kill DH. I let him get 2 extra hours of sleep this morning because I'm nice. Now I'm exhausted and he is totally messing up her schedule. If she screams for 2 hours because she goes too bed late I'm going to kill him. I'm so sick of him not listening to me and not knowing her schedule.
Also random pet peeve about MIL. She constantly is using improper grammar with DD1 and she is educated and knows proper grammar. I think it's her version of baby talk only little kid talk or something. Certainly not relationship ruining but I am confused as to WHY.
My dad does this with all his grandkids (and he also yells as though they are deaf) and it drives me up a wall. I've asked him to speak to DS as though he's a hearing abled adult and he has yet to follow through.
I just signed DD up for swim lessons! It's one of her "rewards" for potty training, since they would only do lessons for kids that are PT'd and she'd been begging to go to swim lessons. I'm pumped, since she loves the water (practically a requirement in my family) and I want to feel like she's safe at the lake this summer.
She's also asked to take dance class. I...uh...I'm not so excited about that. I should stick to one activity at a time, right?

DH doesn't get it. I do 100% of daycare drop offs and pickups. It wears on me but it's the reality of our schedules. H and I are both off this week and sending DS to daycare M-Th (squeeeee!) I asked DH before xmas if he'd do all the drop offs and pickups so I'd have a break and he said yes. This afternoon he asked, "do you want me to pick up DS?" Um, yes. Then he told me, "but I'd like you to do it tomorrow morning since I'm meeting Friend for breakfast." Dude, it's an 8 am breakfast, 15 minutes from daycare, daycare opens at 7. You can do drop off. Gaah. I want 4 days off from this duty and I don't want to have to discuss it twice a day!

We are having a New Years party and I just dropped $100 at the liquor store. And only that little BC I spent $130 before Xmas. Haven't bought beer or food yet. Oops.

DH and I were off today (well all week) and sent DS too daycare to enjoy the day together (doing same tomorrow and wednesday).
We went into Boston for lunch, walking around and shopping. I hit up Primark, I am in love. Got 2 jeggings, 1 black ponte pant, 2 tops, toddler sweater, and body slimming tank top for only $62.
Tomorrow we are going to movies and checking out new bowling place! I feel like we are our pre-kid kid selves.
The power keeps going off and on because of the wind. It was flickering a bunch so H wanted all electronics unplugged. Now there is nothing to do. I suggested going to my mom's but he doesn't want to go anywhere. What a thrilling night this will be. He's snoring on the other couch.

Are you still swaddling her? I think we need to wean from the swaddle before sleep training in his crib. I think we’ll move him to his crib on NY day. I’m kind of sad about it and frankly I think he’s going to have a hard time learning to CIO.
(Translation: I’m going to be a freaking wuss hearing him CIO)
Nope, we ditched the swaddle. She seems to be doing okay without it. Nights are going fairly well. It's just naps that suck.

Both my kids, 3 and 14 months, just had meltdowns because we had them STOP brushing their teeth. They are both obsessed with brushing their teeth. When DS1 had his first dental check up this past summer. I'm proud of them, but I'll admit, my first thought was weirdos.

Fwiw the Troubelsome tots blog and HBOTB recommend moving baby to be crib Swaddled so they have the comfort of the Swaddle during that transition.
I was such a wuss hearing ds1 CIO I had to leave the house:(
I ate everything I'm not supposed to (dietary restrictions bc baby will spit up A LOT & have bad gas) yesterday and I'm paying for it today. Oh well, at least it's helping me lose weight.
I made a meal plan for the next 2 weeks so I can hit my goal calories & macros. DH is home this week but I think I'll still take the boys to the gym tomorrow.
Caribbean last minute getaway was looking too pricey so we're going to Vegas instead. I went to Vegas all the time when I lived in Denver, but it's been what, seven years? And I've never been with DH, I'm pumped.
Where should we stay?! Or what part of the strip is most fun now?
