Is it stupid to buy boots while pregnant?

I want a new pair of nice boots, but I'm worried about investing in them. I'm halfway through my pregnancy and so far haven't had any foot swelling. How much did your feet swell, and when? Should I just wait? Buy them a little bigger?

My foot size didn't change all that much, so yeah, I'd probably buy boots.

Maybe cheap ones, though.

ETA - my feet didn't swell at all, but they did get about a quarter of a size bigger postpartum and stayed that way.

Mine never swelled. And are still the same size now.

My feet didn't swell much at all. My work shoes felt a little snugger toward the end, but they were still comfortable. My hands were another story.

Two pregnancies. Still exactly the same size shoe after.

For both after about 30 weeks I swelled at the end of the day so there were shoes I didn't love to wear, but I COULD wear them.

I'd buy cheap boots. My feet didn't swell much during pregnancy, and they didn't really change sizes, but they're just shaped a little differently than before. Some of my previously uncomfortable shoes became comfortable and the opposite happened, too. I didn't have to get rid of any shoes, but I'd hate to have a nice pair of boots no longer be comfortable. Plus, enough people have a different shoe size later that I wouldn't want to risk that being me.

I was a 10 until I had DD and became an 11. I can't even fit in a 10 now.

Yes

You may be lucky and you won't swell or your feet won't grow, but I wouldn't risk it.

My feet grew a size after my second pregnancy. In retrospect maybe they grew a half size with each, but by the second I could no longer deny it.

My feet grew after my pregnancy. I have a whole box of barely worn shoes that are too small.

Mine stayed the same size all throughout, size didnt change after pregnancy either.

My feet never changed sizes, but my calves did while pregnant. For that reason (calf fit) I would wait until post-pregnancy just to make sure that you like how they fit when you buy them.

I'd hold off my feet were permanently a half size larger after pregnancy and this happened to a few of my friends wait if these are investment boots.

Mine have stayed the same. My calves did seem to swell a bit, but not so much that I couldn't have sized properly to stay consistent throughout pregnancy and after delivery.

I def wouldn't, especially during a first pregnancy. I swelled horribly during the last 4 weeks of my first pregnancy, and didn't have any swelling during my second. I could have bought boots during the second, but it would have been a gamble!

If your old shoes are still fitting like normal, and you haven't noticed any change in your feet, you're safe.

Every pregnancy is different. I had zero swelling with DS1.

With DS2, I couldn't wear anything but flip flops for the last 3 weeks of pregnancy and 3-4 weeks post partum and even those still left horrible indents in my feet. I still don't fit in my boots 3 months pp (calves are too large) even though my shoe size didn't change.

Save your money.
