I finally found a doctor that I was comfortable with and she started me on the extended release low dose. I can't believe it took me 1.5 years to get this done. I don't "feel" different- I wasn't jittery or anything. My mind just felt clear. I completed tasks in order without issue. I can't wait to see how I feel tomorrow during work.
I did want to say thank you to everyone for being so encouraging the past year when I complained about it all. I was scared to take anything and so many of you helped with your success stories.

That is awesome. After 2/3 years of my DD1 being treated for anxiety/depression, a different therapist told her her symptoms sounded more like anxiety/add. She has been on adderal for about 3/4 weeks and the difference is amazing to her. She can finish her school assignments. Also, school she was partially successful with but it was such a struggle with her. After the adderall, she was able to finish her finals/final projects with much less stress and so much more confidence. I can't wait to see what this semester will be like for her.

That's great, amberlyrose. Sounds like you found a good fit on your first try.
katb, your story sounds so much like my niece. She'd been seeing a psychologist for depression/life situations for almost 10 years when she moved in with me to pay down her student loans.
She's a pretty bright and functional person, but OMG having her in house was an eye opener- she was so scattered, disorganized and had almost no executive function skills. The second week she was here, she left without her work computer twice in 3 day and had to swing back to the house. I called her on it and turfed her to DS's psychiatrist- he saw what I saw and she eventually started meds about 14 months ago. This year she got a promotion at work and the largest bonus ever. She is so much happier and calmer. But she did lose 2 iPhones between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

I did take it a little late yesterday (around 9:30am) so I was up til 10pm wide awake, but I crashed pretty easily and slept well. This was the first morning I woke up feeling good in a long time. I took today's dose at 6:30, so hopefully I'm ready for bed earlier tonight. The dry mouth feeling sucks but at least I'm drinking a ton of water, which isn't so bad
