I am awake but in bed. DD has been crying a bit in bed so I am waiting for her to settle. DS is next to me and seems ok, not in a deep sleep though. My goal is to get ready without either of them waking. I really just want to snuggle with DS right now, he looks so cute. Slept like shit though, of course.
And it feels like -20 Celsius out this morning. Gross.
I've actually managed a decent night of sleep, considering it's still only 5am. H took the monitor and is sleeping downstairs, "contractions" seem to have stopped and I was only up 3 times to pee. Woot!
I woke up starving a few minutes ago and had a big glass of chocolate milk and a few handfuls of trail mix. Hoping to fall back asleep for a while longer if I'm lucky.
After those really rough nights last week when DS couldn't sleep, he has turned it around in a major way. He does 12 hours at night and a 2.5 hour nap.
Z had his 2 month check up and shots today. He's a whopping 14 pounds! And just shy of 24 inches. He's about to size out of 3 month clothes in the next week or 2. I shouldn't be too surprised I suppose, H and I are both 6' or taller.

Laid down at 1p yesterday with the kids. Woke up at 3am this morning. I feel amazing!! Pretty excited to be home even though there is snow on the ground and A LOT of laundry unpacking to do.
E was up 5 times last night. #5 was only an hour after the previous wakeup. I am tired, and wishing I had just taken the on call shift today instead of floating to another unit.
I was hoping I'd start back to work after the new year as something other than a zombie. Not the case. Here's hoping no one tells me how tired I look today.
Back to work, and back to the routine. My boss was out of the country for the last two weeks, with the exception of last Wed and Thurs, I was working basically non-stop. I'm very excited she's back and I don't have to work 10 hour days anymore! One of my goals for 2016 is to go back to a nice, balanced 40 hour work week. We'll see if that's possible in my new role.
We put DS in the new car seat in the new van last night just to make sure everything fit. All he wanted to do was explore. He wouldn't sit down in the seat until he had a chance to walk all around and check it out. When I finally got him in the seat, I closed the sliding door. He started clapping and said "gen, gen!" meaning do it again. It was so cute!
Man, it seems like our normal routine was soooo long ago. DH hasn't gone to work and DS hasn't gone to school in almost 2 weeks. Getting us ready this morning is painful!
Back to work today after 1.5 weeks off. It was nice getting some time off of work, but it will be even nicer to send the kids back to daycare. I love my kids, but I need a break. DS was ridiculously cranky yesterday, I suspect teething.
Feeling good starting the week on the right foot. I packed a healthy lunch and snacks, brought my coffee and made a smoothie for breakfast. Also was on time for the train!
DD didn't want to get up but was fine once she got moving. She's been at school for an hour. DH just left for work and I'm snuggling my 2 yo baby.
I think I'm going to try and hyper plan out the month this morning. I need a clear path for going to the gym and eating on track every day. And the older two start new activities this week and DH wants to get back to running.
Our holiday partying is done. I'm sort of sad. Two weeks until mini vacation though.
I'm doing great so far on reading more.
Our tree needs to come down today. It's getting dry. But the kids love it. Winter is depressing otherwise. I talked H into leaving one outside tree lit up by our patio..just so we have something fun still.
I successfully dropped Stella at daycare and only lingered 10 mins and saved my tears for the car. Now I'm at the gym on the stair climber doing intervals.

Where are you guys going? DH and I are getting away for a log MLK weekend and I can't wait!

Ummm...absolutely nowhere exciting.
We're meeting my sibs (and families) and parents for a weekend in a town a half hour from here...lol....lol. We picked a nice hotel with a fun pool area for the kids. Next to shopping. We have plans to take the kids to the Children's Museum then a glorified Chuck E. Cheese but better place. Sit by the pool and drink beer with everyone.
We're so exciting. Let. Me. Tell. You.
Dhs Birthday is next month and we're discussing planning something more fun alone. But for now this will do. There's something nice about just going where you know all stress free, do as you wish. See the sights you never have time for between the grocery store and TjMaxx stops.

Thanks. I'm definitely excited. My kids are 4 and almost 2. They don't care where we are just yet. H and I have plans to travel with them more when they get bigger, but for now we do a lot of this stuff. Everyone's happy and it's a good break. I also like there's little travel time so everyone is still freakin' happy and awake when we get there...ha.
My parents did the same for us growing up. It was also a fun break in the dead of winter we looked forward too.
Yesterday I hiked 10 miles, had sex twice (including once in the woods - who am I?!?!) and folded 8 loads of laundry. I feel like I deserve a medal.
In other news, I'm really sore today
I am tired just reading this
I was up until 11:30, then realized I was uncomfortable because of another ducking UTI. Are you kidding me?! So I am at the parking lot at daycare calling the doc office to get an appointment. I think the phones come on at 8.

I got like three hours sleep last night. DS wasn't even to blame. I just couldn't wind down. Somehow, I was still bright eyed at 6:30. It's amazing how quickly kids get you accustomed to no sleep. Haha
I stayed up too late last night but still got 8 uninterrupted hours of sleep before waking naturally on my own. Now I've got 5 hours to do about a million things that I wanted to get done before H and L return from the inlaws.
My poor baby is so sick. He woke up, said he was hungry and then said his belly hurt. He immediately started throwing up. I brought him to the bathroom to try to contain the mess and he fell asleep on the bath mat. He's now on the couch piled up with blankets. I've never seen him so lethargic.
After a 17 day break, back to life, back to reality.. The kids were terrors yesterday so I was kind of looking forward to it but now I'm sad. Also trying to start a new diet. It's going to be a day.
My kids turned on the cute in honor of returning to daycare. One kid kissed my owie and then demanded that her sister kiss her owie. The other kid gave me a series of enthusiastic hugs while saying 'hug!'
