Well I was supposed to leave yesterday for our honeymoon, but I'm back at work all week thanks to the fun tropical storm.
I think the worst part was the 5 hours of trying to re-arrange our stay since our room is booked 2 nights out of our new date range, so we have to switch rooms 2 times (ok the butler has to do it for us, but either way DH is way annoyed)
Minus that, awesome weekend, awesome wedding, and awesome DH.
we fly out on the 2nd...i was surprised that was the soonest they could get us a new flight, but we are doing all the marriage admin stuff at work now, so i finally have life insurance and my car insurance went down...
and a heavy corset wedding dress is a great way to lose 5 lbs on your wedding day....i ate 1/4 of my meal, a bite of cake, and had 1 glass of wine and the bit of champagne for the toast...and wore myself out dancing. by the end of the night, my feet were killing me and i swear the dress was close to 20 lbs...or it sure felt like it, i should put it on our hanging scale down stairs. and i was really looking forward to lots of sangria and wine.

Bummer. My honeymoon got canceled literally 3 minutes before I went to walk down the aisle because of a hurricane. Why I answered my phone while I was waiting in the church I don't know. I spent our entire morning after brunch and the rest of that day trying to make alt reservations. Not fun and I'm sorry you have to do that.
you're experience sounds way worse than mine. Sorry you had to spend your day like that too. granted had we actually checked sooner the next day, rather than listening to everyone who said "oh it should be past Miami by then" we might have left sooner. (ie on the 28 or 29th) and not wasted a ton of time and gas driving down to York only to drive back.
and yes it's the hotel that has the butler, we are going to sandals and splurged on a room with butler service. DH has never been out of the country or on a really nice vacation so we wanted to go all out on this. which is why i have done no shopping and been saving up so we could pay for everything in cash.
it will be a great time anway even with the room changes. and since we were here this week, we found out DH got his promotion at work.

That makes a whole lot more sense. I was thinking you meant "the butler" as in YOUR butler. Like a person you have on staff or something.
lol yeah I couldn't afford a personal butler, nor would i ever feel comfortable having one...i don't even want a house cleaner...maybe for the super rich, but darn my midwestern roots would feel a might bit pretentious with a personal house butler...instead of just a vacation one that basically keeps us in drinks and packs and unpacks for us and does turn down service...
and yours is just 2 weeks away!!!!!! congrats on your upcoming one!!!!!
i think at 2 weeks we were still kind of freaking out about all the small last minute details that needed done...how are you guys doing? totally excited and relaxed???
i don't think it hit me until i saw my dad (to walk me down the aisle) and then i started crying...but we both say we felt like we've been married for a while now....all the planning and getting ready that day, and it went by so fast and we only had about 64 adults, but i didn't get to talk to 1/2 of them.

The stress/anxiety comes in waves. Our to-do list is pretty well set, except for things we can’t buy/do until just a few days before. As I mentioned in the WTF Wednesday post, I’ve been stalking accuweather.com and it’s driving me insane. I know the weather can’t be the least bit accurate 15 days out, but they’re calling for rain. I know I can’t control the weather and we’ll embrace whatever Mother Nature gives us…but I need to KNOW what the weather will be so we can plan ahead. I’m way too Type A for all of this wedding crap…ha!
FF is doing good – he just asks me how he can help and tells me it’ll all turn out just fine. He’s excited about the wedding (as am I), but I’m REALLY excited to have it behind us too. I want to get back to normal life and focus on our marriage.
When can we expect to see some pictures of your big day?!

yeah the weather, since ours was out doors as well was a huge factor, and we had a party the night before, thank heaven's it was great weather...and then my brother had to tackle me while playing volley ball...um we are a competative family.
DH was great for the most part, but stressed with getting the house ready "because it had to look perfect for my family" and he had a groomzilla moment when putting the seating chart on the poster board...
i put one picture up in the PIP thread. we don't have many yet, i'm surprised I haven't been bombarded with emails but i need to tell my family we are putting them up on flikr...
will be praying for great weather for your wedding!!!!!!
