He's battled thyroid cancer for 13 years. He developed pneumonia in November and just kept taking on fluid in his lungs and legs. He couldn't walk, he couldn't lay down. He started oxygen in November and has been in the hospital for three weeks. He lost 120 pounds, he has a trach, he just couldn't make it.
I'm sad, but he's no longer suffering. I'm worried about my mom. He left a large house with a lot of unfinished projects. Hard to believe he drove out to Washington for a family vacation this summer. I'm glad we had that with him.
Eta: my mom called and said he's a donor, so a couple people may be getting his corneas. So that's good.
