Been out of the dating thing for a while. Forgot what I am supposed to wear. It's a first date and we are going to a steak restaurant. It's way too hot for jeans. It's also likely to rain.
I'm thinking a black skirt? And I have no idea what on top. I don't want to whore it up and wear a cleavage top like I normally would. Help me please. Thanks
ETA: Going to wear this dress (sorry that it is sideways no idea why):
Short, but covers up the boobies and comfortable With black patent wedge sandals

My gramma (a very wise woman) always told me to either show the top or the bottom...so if the shirt is low cut the skirt is longer (meaning not a mini) or if it is, then less cleavage..... I personally am a huge fan of the maxi dress for summer...they are cute comfy and if they fit right they can be pretty sexy...
I vote a maxi dress or a long (maxi) skirt with a figure skimming tank (racer-back). I always feel sexy in dresses or skirts but you can pull it off without revealing too much.

Maxi dresses are not a good idea for me... my best physical asset is my long sexy legs and I hate to cover them up. Sadly I don't have any appropriate short skirts... I have super conservative work clothes and shorty shorts for the weekends... and nothing in between.

Are the shorts in decent condition? Dark denim or cotton? You could dress them up with killer heels and a fancier top....
Chrissie, I have a rule like that, except I break it into 3 parts: boobs, back (I LOVE backless stuff), and legs. You can get away with showing off one of them. Two if you're trying to look *super* sexy. It crosses the line into trashy when you're showing all three!

I have black and a really dark blue but not denim pair. Both are practically brand new and "nicer". I have a pretty purple blouse that hides my stomach (problem area) b/c it is looser at the bottom. I'm afraid it's too much cleavage though (my mom says it is) I wish I could show y'all my closet LOL

I am also a fan of shorts with a nice top and nude or wedge heels. They'll be dressy enough and really show off your legs (for some reason I'm picturing you with killer legs).
I like shorts and heels, but I don't think they sound appropriate for the restaurant. Somehow steakhouse and shorts and heels don't go together for me.
I vote summery dress like posted above. If you don't have one in your closet I think you should definitely go purchase one. You will totally get a ton of use out of it and can find a lot of them really inexpensively.

Not sure if it matters but it isn't a fancy steakhouse, it's a chain kind of like Outback I think (I haven't been there but on the website that's what it looks like)

My best friend in college used to always sing that song to me... "She's got legs and she knows how to use them" lol
BK's legs are so long that instead of kicking off her shoes, she punts them over balconies in hotels. True story. Killer legs!
LOL, that was a funny moment! I'm actually wearing those shoes right now I'm not going to be able to PIP me in those shorts now b/c everyone is going to expect me to have Rockette legs!

What kind of a steak restaurant are we talking? Outback-I'd wear jeans, a cute top, and heels. a nicer restaurant-a cute summery dress, or a skirt and fun top with heels or flats. A $100 per steak and sides are extra type restaurant-a fancy dress with.
My first date staple outfit was always jeans, cute dressy top and heels with minimal makeup so I look pretty, but not like I am trying too hard.
