Did anyone see the "start a thread challenge" over in parenting? Any interest? I'll c/p in a minute because I can't link.

Sorry for the late notice on this! Ended up being a busier week than expected. I propose that we kickoff on Monday, 1/11, and end 1/31. For those who are confused, original thread here:

Since this is just for fun, I don't want to attach many rules. But here's some suggested parameters:

• Posters opt-in. Participation is in no way required! 
• Intro threads don't count toward the challenge, but if you've never posted you can include intro information in your first post. Don't want the board cluttered with a million boring (no offense) intros
• Standard threads, such as Randoms, UO, FFFC, and drinking threads also don't count

I am suggesting the below challenge commitment per membership level. 
Noob: 2
Member: 3
Reg: 4
Bronze Reg: 5
Silver Reg: 6
Gold Reg: 7
Platinum Reg: 8

Let me know what you think of those levels. If you would like to opt-in, please post below. I believe we declined any real prizes associated with this, but I think I'll create another thread to track those who have met goal.

It's basically a challenge for every poster to create a certain number of threads this month based on their "level". Some boards are doing badges or prizes if you meet your goal. Idk anything about badges I just thought it looked interesting. Clearly 100 views and no posts later I am alone in that

I don't know about prizes or badges, but someone could keep a quick tally, and the person with the most at the end of the month could win bragging rights. I'm not really sure why this board has seemed to die off, does it have to do with the amount of lack of posts or the lack of traffic, or topics that don't seem to encourage conversation. There are a few older regs that are not around as much as before. Lurkers, this is a wonderful time to come out of hiding, we don't bite. Hard.

But really, I am confused. Why are we over here? Why is there a totally separate "Then Comes Family" board and why aren't we also over there? When TB imploded, I wasn't sure where to go. I lurk on parenting while BF all the time but never post. B/c breastfeeding, and using my phone. They are pretty entertaining. 

Do a lot of people go on both boards?

I used to post on the late term loss board after the move but it was really slow after the bump exodus so now I just post here.

The SAHM board migrated here before the big bump explosion.  I post on the SN board there occasionally but I like gbcn 1000% better.

I used to post on the loss board and lurk a few others after my m/c but now I juat post here mainly and a few times on MMM.

We left because of the crap that TB did to our board regarding moderators and stuff. Parenting laughed at us, and didn't believe us when we said they were next. 

Sure enough, they were next. They all left and instead of coming here created their own board, and they seem to be trying to turn it into a bump-like corporation? They have social media directors, some pretty serious moderator positions and other things. I believe gwapes is over there. 

I have been here since the nest left, so I prefer it here. Plus I don't get the 1D stuff.

I'll do it too, even though I'm still a newb. I've been on sporadically since the Bump days, but I still feel "new" so I don't reply much. But since some of our regulars seem to have disappeared, I'd be happy to try and talk more.

I feel like a lot of people stopped posting after Kimbus left. At least it feels like this board really got quiet after that. I still think of her and her kids and wish them all well. I was sad that she left.

I agree, this board needs to be livened up a bit but I'm not sure what topics will interest enough people to get it going.
