Let me just suggest not doing the ice cream cone 'tea cups' I tried from Pinterest last year...
Games...how about a dress up corner where they get fancied up before the food? DD1 went to a princess party and they made tiara's using glitter and sparkles and gems. You could make necklaces too. Maybe skip the games?
Start party - dress up corner, princess music on, make a necklace to wear, make a tiara, meet Tiana/pictures, have tea/cake, open gifts?

DD had a fancy tea party for her last birthday, and it was so fun!
I served: - tea sandwiches, served on a fancy, 3-tiered platter thing (borrowed from my mom). Avocado and sea salt, cream cheese and strawberry jam, PB & J, all with crusts cut off and cut into triangles (fancy tea party style) - strawberries, served in fancy cupcake papers - popcorn (I think? Maybe pretzels?), also served in fancy cupcake papers
For dessert, DD requested ice cream, with chocolate sauce and sprinkles, so that was easy. I borrowed a bunch of fancy tea cups from my mom that I served the ice cream in. The girls loved that.
For activities, I ordered feature boas, fancy bejeweled rings, necklaces, and fake mustaches for everyone to get fancy with. I found plain "straw" hats at the dollar store, and bought a bunch of fake flowers, butterflies, ribbon, and they all got to decorate a tea party hat (my mom helped supervise the hot gluing on of the things - DEFINITELY recommend help for that). Once they were all dolled up, they pretty much just ran around being fancy, and that was activity enough.
We do one for Valentine's Day each year! Last year we decorated cupcakes (I frosted them and the girls got to decorate them). This year I am making salt dough hearts about 7 inches big with a ribbon to hang them and the girls will paint/decorate them. Last year they also went through the costumes and hats and got all dressed up and they all sang and danced in the living room.
minismama I was thinking about your valentines party and considering doing down thing similar for my girls this year.
You should! It kind of started small with just family and then last year we did a big one and this year she is so excited to host it and help plan it with me. It's such a cute tradition.

Do you have a recipe for the salt dough hearts? Can they just use regular paint on them?
I'll get it for you. And yes regular paint works fine. We used the crayola washable paint when we did salt dough ornaments this December. It does take a lot of time to dry the dough out in the over but you can make them weeks in advance and they will be ready to paint at the party.
Thanks for the ideas. I always overthink these things. DD just wants to dress up and run around while I'm nervous the parents are going to judge me for being lazy.
Oh! I forgot the best part of DD's! For the parents who stayed, I had mimosas for the adults. Maybe that's friend circle dependent, but my friends loved it.

This is all dd ever wants to do. Play in her room with her friends. I'd probably just do the decorate a crown, tea party and call it good. They're little girls with princess clothes. They'll have a blast.
