DS has bronchitis and separate wheezing. So he's been watching tv nonstop. I won't lie. This is the same winter Julia ended up hospitalized with an asthma diagnosis (age 2) and I'm definitely scared this won't be a single wheezing episode for him too.

My kids have been at each other's throats since they got up. I'm tired and I'm over it. We don't allow tv on weekdays but I am thisclose to turning it on
Ds woke up at 5:30 before I left for work so I got delayed and h keeps texting me a play by play of how "rough" their morning is going. Ummm you don't go to work until 9:30 am so shush h!

lattelady5 I hear you. I sent dd1 out to the bus and it's -9. She just marched right out there and didn't look back. I shut the door and ran to the window! Unfortunately when She gets back we have to go to the store.
It took me almost two hours, but I got my new curtains hung up. Because of the difference in rod size the one side hangs a bit shorter. I'm hoping it won't drive me nuts once my other furniture is in place. quesyrah I'm totally planning on trying a movie later this morning and we never do movies, but hello, it's cold! @itsbritt men are such whiners sometimes. I'm sorry.
My MIL is here helping me out this week and just in case I start bleeding again. DH had to travel for work this week and was worried I'd end up back in the hospital with nobody to look after DD. I appreciate her being here so much, but she's being kind of a martyr about it. She has brought up having to miss her volunteering and being exhausted a few times already. It makes me feel bad. She seems to be enjoying playing with DD though despite the little comments here and there.
DH gets lots of love from me recently - I've changed my mind so many times on where I want the crib for baby and he has happily dismantled the thing and reassembled as it doesn't fit through our doorways. I'm sure he's silently calling me crazy lady but he isn't sharing that with me.
I'm hiding lemon cookie ice cream in the back of the freezer because I don't want to share nor reveal how much I've been indulging.
Ds2 is starting solids and loves everything. Siblings are so different I am constantly reminded. Ds1 struggled with solids till he was 15 months.

Typically a lurker but I just want to vent, talk. Took the kiddos to story time today. DS was a total pain. There were only a few kids there and no other activities. I'm trying to make this my home but I miss our old home so badly. I'm almost in tears right now thinking about it & stress eating. I need to lose weight and have no motivation right now.
Talk about randoms.. sorry for making it more of a poor me/vent.

Aw sorry my ds was always a pain at story time and it made me wonder why I bothered!
Sorry you're homesick. We moved over a year ago, and although it was only 40 minutes away from where I lived for many years, it was a bit overwhelming and took time to feel like this is my new place. Hugs!!

I'm sorry you're having a hard time right now
DS was THAT kid who would never sit still during story time and the librarian always gave us the stink eye. A friend suggested trying a different library so I did and at that one there was music and interaction and they were happy to let the kids get up and move. Maybe see if there is another library you could try?

Thank you ladies for your support. I hope we adjust here soon. Thank you for the idea of checking out other libraries. I just looked into two more "near" us (a bit of a drive) and hopefully they will seem more of a fit for us. DS is only almost two and I know I compare him to DD too often.I was able to take her at 18months with no issues, but he is a handful & embarrassed the crap out of me today!

Oh, man, junebugmom01. We had to quit going to story time too, but I think it bothered me more than him, He has been every bit as happy to just go to the library when it works to go to the library and read books just the two of us. And, I agree, try another library. There is so much difference in children's librarians, and story times for toddlers should have movement and music and a chance to explore. Goo luck settling in to your new home!

Guys, I just scheduled a preschool tour for DS. Preschool. How is that possible?? I know I said upthread that I was okay with this whole leaving the baby stage thing, but, PRESCHOOL?? That's crazy.

I will tell you that there is no way DS would sit through storytime at 18 mos. I'd say he "sort of" got it around 2.5, and just now at almost 3 will usually sit through storytime at his playgroup.

Sorry, to clarify is he turning two in the beginning of March. We went to story time at home but it was a lot different and more interactive. It makes it hard because I still want to take my 4yr old DD.

I really think almost 2 is young to be expected to sit quietly for any real length of time with minimal interaction or activity. Or maybe he was just having an off day, or maybe everything was new and he got overstimulated with all the "newness" of the people, situation, etc.? Regardless, I'd give the place another shot another day, and if it doesn't seem like a good fit hopefully you'll be able to find something that works better for both of your LO's.
These things just take time sometimes, unfortunately. We've lived in our new house/area for two years now and I've still only found one drop-in place that we really like.

Bored out of my mind right now at work. I have a book that should really be interesting but I have no desire to read it, so instead I'm I keep going back and forth to the same websites doing nothing. LOL

DS1 who is 2 years 4 months is HORRIBLE at story time! He likes the music part, but once they try to read a story he is DONE. We have even been asked to take a "break from the room" It sucks because DS2 seems to be so into it.
I am sorry you are having a hard time adjusting, I agree libraries vary so much! Maybe you will find a better story time...

How long ago did you move? I moved cross-country 3 years ago, and due to having no car for the first 8 months, then being pregnant and sick, it took me a while to adjust too. It's awesome that you're taking the kids out and trying things. You may have to just keep trying different things until something clicks. Maybe a playgroup would be better?

We moved at the beginning of December, so it's not been long at all. It has been extra hard with the holidays. I also don't do well in the winter..the cold and the getting dark are not helping matters. I think a play group would be great,if one exists around here. We moved from a wonderful area to a very slow paced area. It's hard. I can't imagine moving cross country! We moved about 4 hours from home, but at least now we are closer to family. Thanks so much everyone for talking to me about this. It feels good to talk about it.
junebugmom01 is it warm enough to play outside where you are? I have met my 2 best mom friends at a park. Just struck up a conversation. I'm not outgoing at all but I find if I start with kid talk (oh my kids love to climb the slide too hahaha) I have an easier time approaching new people.
Or try meetup? I did stroller strides and their moms group with DS was younger
Junebugmom01, you have my sympathy. I've never been more embarrassed as the time my DD acted up at rhyme time at the library. I wanted to crawl under a rock. Do you have hobbies or interests you could pursue to meet people? Making friends as an adult is hard.
