We don't do gifts either. I'll might suggest sushi for dinner or something, and I'll probably pick up some chocolates (for myself-lol) the following week when they go on sale.
DH usually gets me a box of Godiva and we go out for a nice dinner sometime around the holiday. Any excuse for a fancy meal! We are not really Valentine's Day people though. It's a made up holiday to me and I loathe flowers.
LOL, I am not a holiday Grinch but I must seem like one with my NYE hate and now Valentine's Day!
DH's birthday is 2 days before Valentine so we just do a nice dinner out and add a "happy vday to our birthday toast." This year he is turning 40 so I planned a day of wine tasting and I'm really excited!
Anyway, after all that rambling my answer is nothing lol.
DH usually does something for me like chocolates and flowers which is really funny because we don't do gifts for most occasions and he's not a romantic by any means. He also knows I'd think him a sucker for buying flowers on Valentine's so he picks up some from the flower market downtown and uses a vase from home . If he asked me what I wanted I probably would ask for a dinner date.
I always get him shoes - leather loafers or slippers.
There's a couple shirts on etsy I want. Otherwise I'd just like a long kid free dinner. I know that's the usual trite answer but it's been too long.
A kid free dinner is my ultimate dream these days
We haven't been out to eat in SOOO long with or without the kids for a lot of reasons. The last time was NYE Day and we took the kids to McDs playland (so hardly counts..lol) to burn some energy. Fun times my friends.

We aren't ones to buy gifts. We generally eat a nicer dinner, get cards and candy but that's it. We spend the money we would spend on gifts towards a weekend trip sans kids. We got a suite with a fireplace and will spend two days between that and drinking alcohol at the hot tub. Lol.
We also dont generally do gifts (and our anniversary is the 18th), so v-day is always pretty subtle at our house. Usually some flowers and a card. DH often makes dinner that day...I get him a card....and usually sex :0P
If I was asked like you were, I might suggest a massage, dinner out, I personally need snow boots, a new silver necklace chain, or maybe a book or two.
A vodka martini and a chocolate cake. To enjoy pure silence with no one calling my name. Ahhh bliss. This gift idea brought to you by "I'm eating healthier and trying not to drink so much"
Dinner out without kids, that's all. If he really wants to get a gift, I saw some pots and pans I want at Costco. We don't typically do gifts for Valentine's day though.

No gifts here and id be pissed if he bought flowers. We usually make pizza at home (@tooshort) way better than some of the other options and have wine. There will be wine and nice dessert.
