I have to say, that's a pretty poorly-written blurb -- prices are about to plummet, so snatch up these tickets now! Shouldn't we buy after the prices plummet?
That said, I'm about to book a $253 round-trip flight to Phoenix, which is pretty insane. For work, though, so all that means is fewer credit card points for me
I was looking at tickets Sunday evening for a memorial service in WI-I can get there 3 weeks from now for under $200. I haven't been able to do that since 2001-2003. In the past 10 years we've considered it a good price if we can get there for under $300 a piece.
Now to figure out dates to go out West to see our fathers. I need to get through the memorial service first and determine if I still even want to go see my dad. I'm not bending over backwards since he couldn't find the time to come see us last year, as we had agreed on.
My friend just booked tickets from FL to EWR for 140 round trip. I thought that was crazy given that it's only a few weeks from now. I guess no one wants to come to NJ/NY in February.

I have a work trip to Denver coming up and I couldn't believe how cheap the ticket was! Our flights are centrally billed though, so no CC points for me.

Totally changing the subject, but let me know when you'll be in town and we can plan dinner at Pizzeria Bianco.
I'm going on vacation soon and planned the trip a month ago and was pleasantly surprised with prices. I wasn't sure if it was because of the time of year being after the holiday.
Our flight budget was about $750 max and I had a hard time narrowing down a destination because that budget could've got us to Thailand, Portugal, Morocco, Kenya, just to name a few places. I was pleasantly surprised at how many flights were $700 or less.
I ultimately chose to be even more MM. Our tickets cost $470 to fly in to Guatemala and out of Belize. Hope these prices stay low! My next 2 week vacation is in June so I guess we'll see.
I got a First class nonstop flight to Newark to NOLA for $450 this week. It was only $100 more than I'd have to pay with Premium Economy upgrades (tall person problems), hell yes.
I don't know what you guys are looking at, but all of the places I'm looking at are the same prices as before...
I think it depends on the route. As I said up thread, I'm seeking a super low route to Phoenix. But I'm looking to book flights to Germany on my own (credit card points) dime and it had been holding steady for a few months at $1500 (that's high!!!) and now has gone up $50. Boooooo!
Also need to book a personal trip to Louisville and that's $400, which is higher than what I paid for the same itinerary last year.
I'm going to book a work trip to Atlanta and the flights are $450 (high) but coworkers I traveled with this week flew round trip from Richmond to Boston for $150 each (super low).
Long story short -- there's no across-the-board change but there seem to be opportunities out there that haven't existed in years...

With fuel prices tanking, I just paid $1.59 a gallon, airlines should be dropping prices, since fuel is a major expense for them, about 20-30% of operating cost.
