Would you drop your 4 or 5 yr old kid off for a house bday party? Dd2 has 16 classmates. Seems too much to have all of them and their parents here... Other option is girls only which would get me down to 10 but I want to befriend two of the boys parents so...

I wouldn't, but a friend of mine with a five year old was just telling me she was shocked that she took her son to a party and everyone else dropped their kid off, so maybe it's not out of the realm of possibility?
Not without knowing the parents extremely well. Even then, I am not sure DD1 would have let me leave at that age. There were a few times in kindergarten that parents would do drop off at a class party, (DD has a small class and most parents do know each other), but it was definitely the norm IME for the parents to stay.

I would be pissed as hell if a classroom dropped off their preschool or kindy kids at my house! So yeah, I would assume I was staying because what sane person wants to deal with that?
Yea it does sound like a special kind of torture to be responsible for 16 prekinders. Lol. I just had a moment of panick hosting the parents in our house. I have to decide whether I want to do submit myself to that anxiety or find an outside place. In theory I much perfer at home parties... But the reality of it is starting to make me nervous. I wish we could just invite a few kids...

In that case I probably would have the party somewhere else. It sucks to have to travel and pay for a facility, but it would also be stressful to have 28 people in your house!
