I am starting to lean towards biting the bullet and having DD's 7th bday party at my house (original post somewhere below) in the basement. We just did a winter theme with the family, so I would do the same again. Strangely, I cannot find online a sample timeline for a party itself with # minutes/activity. I.e. how long for 15 girls to eat cake? I was thinking something like...
1:00 girls arrive. Have out coloring sheets and crayons on big tables? Maybe take pictures with DD as they arrive that I could send with thank yous, using scarves & mittens and fake snowballs? Not hats. B/c you never know re: lice. Ick.
1:10ish Play a couple winter-themed games and do a winter craft project. Maybe making bead necklaces or something simple that they can take home. (ANY GREAT IDEAS? I am Pinteresting looking for some).
2:00ish Have snack/cake (I would serve just a snack mix or fruit or something, plus cake & either hot cocoa or a blue punch)
2:20 Open Gifts
3:00 Party Over.
Is it a good idea to have an optional showing of "Frozen" after the party for those who could stay longer, or would I be wanting them all OUT and kicking myself for offering the movie?
I like it! I am crazy and love hosting so I would offer the movie-that would be cute, but be prepared to break out some popcorn lol. I would prob want to do a fruit tray, maybe some crackers and cheese plus the cake, but your timeline sounds great.
Aww. You're so cute. I think you're over thinking it a bit. Just have 2 to 3 games ready to play. Have small prizes and wing it. I would just try to have cake 30 minutes before the end. Have fun!!!
Yeah, I think I will forget the movie. I think if we do this I will be ready to have the house back at 3:00. At least this time, with my first attempt!
