It's def possible. A month or so ago DS puked all over the kitchen. I cleaned it up, and drank water out of his sippy cup earlier that day. I thought I was doomed! I didn't get sick.
Definitely possible. Knock on wood I've never gotten sick when my kids have been sick. Stomach bug type sickness. I've gotten plenty of colds from them. I try to make it a point to keep my hands away from my nose and mouth during flu season. I also load up on vitamin C , zinc and probiotics.
No kids, but this might help: I got the stomach flu on our anniversary last year. The night before, we went on a romantic trip out of town, went to dinner, made out. DH never got sick. It was almost annoying.
I think in the 8 years of parenting I have managed to escape the bug a couple times. The key is to continue to wash your hands as if you are going into surgery for weeks. I always get sick like 4 days later when I let my guard down.

You continue to shed the illness days after, up to two weeks. so, you kind of have to treat them like all bodily fluids are toxic for that period time. lol
Fun fact, she also puked on an entire cart of groceries. I feel like I should find the person that had to deal with that and give them a giant bottle of something.
Definitely call corporate and ask to speak to someone in charge of employee recognition. DD1 puked all over the bathroom at a home improvement store while I was camping with DS and she was there with her grandfather. The employees went above and beyond to help her get cleaned up (even lent her a sweatshirt to go home in!), had someone wait with DD2, and took my dad's stuff and money and checked him out and brought it to the car. The next time I went there the woman who got the worst of it had a gold star on her name tag that she said was because I called in and let corporate know.
I'm really really hoping that poor woman got more than just a gold star on her nametag! lol

DD puked all over me 15-20 times with each of two stomach viruses last year and I did okay. Lysol was my best friend, I washed my hands like crazy and I did not touch my hands to my face. We kept her in her room and took care of her in there to help contain it also.
And, thanks to this board, I chugged grape juice. Don't know if it helped, but I would have chanted in foreign languages and danced naked to avoid puking.
I drink wine every night and have only gotten David's stomach bug once, when he was nine months old and I didn't drink wine. LOL Maybe it was a fluke, IDK.
I think you should be good Que. I never got the bug when I just had one kid. There is something about two little jerks running around that make it feel pretty much inevitable that I will get sick now. Too many hands, mouths and butts to keep track of.

Red wine is supposed to have the same properties of grape juice, so honestly, that might be the reason!

Not sure if this is fact or fiction, but I was always led to believe that stomach viruses are only transmitted when infected vomit/fecal matter makes contact with your mouth (usually via your own hands). So, ditto PP's advice to wash hands often and also try to quarantine the infected kiddo to a separate bathroom. But don't worry too much about exposure to saliva etc.
