DS is off school Monday so we are having a play date with some friends.
Today we went out for breakfast and our usual spot was closed due to a plumbing issue in the kitchen so we had to go elsewhere. It's raining on and off so riding bikes through puddles and football on deck.
Tomorrow I have a girls dinner out in the city to celebrate my birthday!

Not a long weekend for us!
Today has been a cluster and I'm ready for it to smooth out. Dh was suppose to take dd2 swimming but she managed to get his razor and cut herself so no swimming. They went to run errands and managed to get nothing. In going with before church so he can finish up. Apparently buying salt for the softener is challenging. Dd3 is cluster feeding since midnight, it's been a long day. Dh is tired obviously.
Tomorrow the high is below zero I don't plan on going anywhere. I'm not sure what I'll do. I'd like dh to take all parenting duties for a few hours but it's not going to happen. Clearly I'm irritable.
Yes! We also took Tuesday off for a chill long weekend that is much needed.
But of course Murphy's law, last night I hear a weird sound and water starts dropping out of the canister light in our living room ceiling. Sooo yeah. Had to call our home warranty and they couldnt find anyone so they're coming today. Ugh. Prob. Have to cut ceiling open
Long weekend here! And early dismissal yesterday which was awesome. Yesterday was beautiful so we hit the park. Today is freezing, so after a basketball game this morning we are hunkered down at home.

Today we had to go to the landfill and get rid of some stuff for my grandma, not my idea of exciting. Then we headed back to her house and she had a list of things she wanted DH to do. So DD and I hung out with her while H worked on his list. Then we came home and I'm doing laundry and organizing around the home. I just made Skinnytaste No-Bake Cheesecake and hoping it turns out okay.
Tomorrow we have no big definite plans. Hopefully deep cleaning and then relaxing the rest of the day.
Long weekend here! We went to Home Depot last night to buy supplies for our closet reno. Turns out the corner piece, which will hold the two organizers together, is online only. Guess we will live out of boxes for another week!
Since our plans changed we are trying to finish a bunch of smaller projects and running errands.
Not a long weekend for us. It's -20C, plus wind chill, so we are house bound. I had a very successful session of purging and organizing cupboards. We played a few games of uno with the kiddos. Not sure what the rest of the weekend has in store.
Today my sister and niece are in town so we've been hanging out with them. Sushi tonight I think!
Tomorrow will probably keep the kids out all day if DH stays home from work. Poor guy is so sick and on top of it has a ton going on at work and has been working from home all weekend (Fri/Sat is his weekend).
Monday DS has off but it's my mom's birthday so we are going over there with my aunt and my MIL to celebrate
@itsbritt I hate leaks! Our ceiling feel through last year in our beach house bathroom due to rain water pooling on the roof (that part of the roof is flat and the drains were plugged up with leaves). There's still a hole (leak was fixed, but we haven't had time to get someone to fix the interior). Hope yours is a quick and inexpensive fix!
So, I had a crazy Friday night. Last night, my boys had haircuts. After that I took them to McDonalds (always a treat after hair cuts) finally we start heading home and about 1/4 mi from home I get to this crazy intersection. As I am passing through I see a car parked parallel on the train tracks. IN the car were kids screaming with woman standing outside. Also people yelling amd running over. As I look down the tracks, i see the fucking train coming. I start panicking and quickly move through the intersection, pull over so my boys couldn't see the scene and called 911. I was shaking by this point. As I am talking to dispatch I see the warning lights on the street start blinking showing the train is about to come through. A few seconds later I see the cruiser come flying down past me and stop up near tracks.
I was thinking about it all night hoping no one was hurt. I assumed things were ok, I didn't hear or see anything and I could see police lights through trees from my house. And nothing on the news.
I found out today they were all ok. The train was able to stop by seriously prob only 100 ft way. There was a pic. It was so scary. I never called 911 before.
I was a passenger on an Amtrak train that collided with a truck that got stuck on the tracks. The guy jumped out and just waited out of the way. The engineer tried to stop in time.
Idk, the whole thing was weird. All the details are from my resident fb page.
Yikes! I'm glad you found out they were all ok. I wonder if the door was locked (although I can't imagine getting out of the car if it was stuck on tracks).
H is in a big trial so I am ready to pull my hair out. It's a long weekend for us but he is headed into work in a few minutes and will be going in tomorrow too. Last night we went to the MOA and let the kids go on some rides. I'm off tomorrow and daycare is open, so I am PUMPED for that day, let me tell you.

What kinds of details? Anything to explain what happened?
NoThis much. There was nothing in the news either. Someone asked what happened. Another said a woman was driving on the tracks with her 3 kids (i saw 2) and got stuck. A guy came running out of a store and was yelling and she was yelling back and panicked when she realized she was stuck. Someone else said they saw kids screaming at the car and SHE was sitting IN the car. I saw the kids in the car (driver door was open) and nothing after that except lights from a distance.
Sorry I'm probably explaining this terribly. Let me see if I can upload the pic.

Oy, Idk if that link works but anyway, it was crazy. I am just glad no one was hurt.
There was a guy just a couple months ago who ran in front of an 18 wheeler on the highway. Literally pulled his car over and jumped out in front of it. The driver was devastated.
Sadly, later it was discovered he lost big at the casino and didn't want to go home. Must be horrible to feel so hopeless.
Turns out the leak wasn't huge but it's been going for a while. So they had to cut a 2x2 square out of the ceiling to repair it but mentioned we need more than that removed when the drywall is repaired since the water soaked in pretty good luckily we renewed our home warranty so the plumbing leak only cost 125 and hoping they cover the drywall repair at least in part since they had to cut the ceiling to repair. So stressful but glad we caught it and hope to have my ceiling repaired within 2 weeks oy!

My DH is working this weekend too and I am losing it. Luckily, he came home yesterday afternoon and took the kids so I got a few hours to myself. Much needed.
For the rest of us, yes, it's a long weekend. DD is putting on a puppet show for her cousins today (their Christmas gift from her), so this morning we are setting up and having a dress rehearsal. DS is refusing to keep any clothes on and running around naked. So, that's fun. Tonight my parents are having us for dinner. Monday we have a playdate with a friend tentatively scheduled.

Jealous...dh is working today and overnight tonight, so then he'll get home tomorrow morning and sleep all day while I have to try to keep the kids quiet and occupied since there is no school. I think we will be going to the gym at least, but I wish school was open!

H has been working past 9pm every day since December 26th. I'm losing my mind. The trial was supposed to be over by this coming Friday, but it's looking like it will go into February because of the defense attorney. I have my mom scheduled to pick up the kids a few times in the next couple weeks because I have to work late for conferences.

That suuuuuucks, auroraloo. I'm sorry. I'm glad you have your mom to help. We have had strings of late nights for DH as well, and it is hard to keep it together after a while. I hope the trial wraps up sooner than you are anticipating.
Sorry, auroraloo . DH works late a lot and it can be really hard!
DH left Friday afternoon on a little guys' trip with his brother/BIL/friend, but they are coming back later today. Friday we had to pick up DD1 after Daisies, and then we had breakfast-for-dinner and stayed in. The baby has been up super late and not sleeping well (my one year old) and I think it's b/c she's getting all four molars. Anyway, we were up super late Friday night and then she woke up a couple times, so I totally overslept and we were late to DD1's gymnastics. Was going to run errands with the littles while she was at gymnastics but it seemed way too hard putting everyone back in and out of the seats, so we just stayed and watched. Went to the grocery store afterwards and then home. I had forgotten it was sample day so they got a few snacks. Funny, though. When you shop with one baby, everyone smiles & coos and is nice. When you have four little kids with you in a giant, unwieldy car cart, and are trying to break up sausage samples with your fingers, people do not think you are nearly as cute. We were trying to just pick up a few things but ended up getting more and it was kind of a tough outing. It's bitterly cold here so we stayed in the rest of the day. Did some Shrinky Dinks, made homemade pizza, and watched the Packer game (heartbreaker).
Today again it's COLD. So cold that your face feels like it's falling off, in less than a minute. We picked up DD from her faith formation class and came right back home. We are in hibernation mode for the rest of today. The house is somewhat trashed and I have to get on it, but we played with the Cupcake Princess Game cupcakes and watched Octonauts. I've been alternating between enjoying cozy hibernation-mode, and wishing for some adult interaction.
No holiday for us tomorrow, so DD1 will be back to school.
