If you shop sales and buy seasons in advance, how do you predict your kids' sizes? I guess roughly things can usually blend between seasons, but for a winter coat for example, I don't know what to get.
DD is 6 months old and wearing 6 months (and 3-6) clothing, some 6-9 month PJs depending on brand. She is long and lean, but has been wearing sizes for a long time. She's 72% for height and 15% weight. Like we have a 6-9 month coat that is still giant on her so she hasn't worn it and I'm not sure if she'll get to before end of winter.
If I want to get her a winter coat for next year (18 months in January), should I go with 12-18 or 18-24? I'm assuming she'll still be tall but is it tall enough to warrant 18-24?
... I'm trying to buy some stuff from CP today because of the big sale and a winter coat for $15 is a great deal!
I am having trouble with that now too. He is 9 months, wearing 6-12, 12 and 12-18. I have no idea what he is going to be this spring and summer. I buy jeans and short-sleeve shirts that I can put long-sleeve onesies under if it's the wrong season, but that's about it.
I don't even try to predict at this age. DS is just now bumping up into 18-24 month shirts and he's almost 19 months. He's not even close on pants. He will be in 12-18 months forever.
Once he gets into toddler sizes I'll feel better about it.

Same here. DD is 10 months, in 9-12m clothes (I mostly buy Carters). I have no idea what to buy for spring & summer. I bought 12-18m for summer, and I think it's going to be too small She has a small stash of 18-24m. So, I only buy 1-2 sizes ahead. I was never any good at buying further out than that.
I didn't buy ahead until DS was about 18 months and following the same percentile for growth. The you're good until the pre-puberty growth spurt. Just don't forget you bought stuff.

I'm having a hard time. Dd is currently following the sizes. I bought a few things but not too much yet. I really have to love it and it be a great price
It's hard for babies. It's easy now. Anything I buy, they'll use at some point. DS is a bit behind - he's solidly in 4T at 4.5 and probably won't need 5's this summer. DD is about matched age and size wise.
